'Rabbi Fram will tell stories from Jewish life to the various closing as- semblies. The new Senior High school class of 1946 will present a special program at the high school assembly. Bible recitation contests were won by Ruth Jackson, Daniel 0 p p erfhe im, Hermine Lippman and Barbara Budson. The declamation contest was won by Judith Green, Toby Cit- rin, Shirley Bloom, Shelda Sklar and Sandra Gordon. The high school oratory con- test was won by Laurel Nan Jacobson and Marvin Ancell. Ladies of Yeshivah Sponsor Musicale Miss Sonia Gurskaya Lieber- man, noted Jewish actress and entertainer, will appear for the first time in Detroit in a dra- matic musicale, Tuesday at 8 p. m., at the Art Institute. Ladies of Yeshivath Beth Ye- hudah are sponsoring this pro- gram. Proceeds will help main- tain the Beth Jacob School for Girls, and the Kindergarten, operated under the auspices of this organization. Sunday School Young Israel Group Program on May 27 Leaders' Seminar in Session on Sunday The religious school committee of the Nortfiwest Hebrew Con- gregation and Center, under the chairmanship of David J. Miller, assisted by Max Goldsmith, Ben- jamin Brodman, Allan Waller and Charles Charlip, has success- fully completed the first term of the Sunday schooL Children of over 85 families in the northwest section were provided with a basic Hebrew and Sunday school education. To mark the completion of its first term, the entire Sunday School will participate in a celebration this Sunday, at 9:30 a. m., at the Bagley school, Greenlawn and Curtis. Miss Nettie Seligson, director, will present a play. Parents of students and the public are invited to attend and observe the progress made by the Sunday school. In addition to Miss Seligson the staff is comprised of Mrs. Irving Ackerman, Miss Michelle Tchor, secretary, and the Misses A. Kasdan and M. Michelin. Bnai David to Hold Dedication Assembly Congregation Bnai David, Elm- hurst and 14th, announces the establishment of a new annual event in the form of a dedica- tion assembly to take place each year on graduation day of its re- ligious school. A feature will be the gradua- tion exercises, a brief service, liturgical music by the Cantor, to be followed by a social hour and refreshments in the social hall of the synagogue. The theme for this year's as- sembly is "What Is Judaism." Graduates will present brief talks on the fundamentals of the Jewish religion, its faith and practices. Rabbi Joshua _ S. Sperka and Joseph A. Block, president of the congregation, will participate. The first annual Dedication Assembly will take place this Sunday, May 27, at 11 a. m.
