WITH THE engineers in Ger-

that upon entering a town the

The Jewish farmers in the
United States are straining their
energies to increase food pro-
duction and are giving "their
full measure of effort and de-
votion, toward winning the war",
according to the 44th annual re-
port of the Jewish Agricultural
Society issued by Dr. Gabriel
Davidson, its executive head.
The report deals with the so-
ciety's efforts to settle on farms
returning veterans as well as
displaced workers, shopkeep-
ers and others who see in farm-
ing a way of livelihood.
The war placed extra pressure
on the Society's Agricultural Ed-
ucation. Department and in the
more populous Jewish farming
districts its experts carried their
teaching from farm to - farm.
During 1944 these travelling
teachers made 2,701 farm visits
and held 99 farm -meetings with
an aggregate attendance of ap-
proximately 5,000.
