Mr. and Mrs. Eli Sache; 1528
Virginia Park, will celebrate
their golden wedding anniver-
sary April 29.
Mr. and Mrs. Sachse were
married in Bay City in 1895 and
have resided in Detroit since
1910.
Mr. Sachse was born in Lith-
uania in 1869, came to Michigan
at the age of 20, conducted a
general store in Arenac county,
a hide and fur business in Bay
City, and was president of the
Detroit Slipper Mfg. Co. until
his retirement in 1936.
JNF Council Treasurer
A former vice-president of
Congregation Beth Tefilo Eman-
uel and treasurer of Jewish Na-
tional Fund Council, he is a
member of the board of direc-
tors of Jewish Home for Aged,
Mizrachi and Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah.
Mrs. Sachse, born in Russia,

is a daughter of the late Hyman

M. Koffman. She was founder
and first president of the Sister-
hood. of Congregation Beth
Tefilo Emanuel, first treasurer
of League of Jewish Women's
Organizations, vice-president of
Jewish National Fund Council,
member of the board of direc-
tors of Ladies' Auxiliary Jewish
National Fund, Jewish Chil-
dren's Home and Women's Aux-
iliary of- the United Hebrew
Schools. •
Other Organizations
She is also a member of the
League for Sabbath Observance,
Hadassah, Ladies' Auxiliary of
Jewish War Veterans, Purity
Chapter O.E.S., Detroit Women's
Division American Jewish Con-
gress.
Mr. and Mrs. Sachse have four
children — one daughter, Mrs.
Max Dushkin. of Detroit, three
sons, Arthur A., who served in
the Navy in World War I and
in the United States Coast Guard
in World War II; Ernest J. of
Los Angeles and Kolmon Z. of
Detroit; seven grandchildren, in-
cluding Lt. Myron Dushkin,
overseas, and one • great-grand-
daughter.

11th anniversary with a dinner-
dance on April 22, at Webster
Hall. Chairmen are Mrs. Saul
Golden, Mrs. Irving Auslander

BRITH - will present afghans
made by its sewing unit to the
Red Cross. At 8:30 p.m. on Mon-
day, at the Bnai Moshe, Pisgah
Women will present stripes to
workers who have put in 150
hours or more of service to the
Red Cross. Deborah, Naomi, Re-.
becca Gratz and Louis Marshall
Young Women will also make
presentation of afghans. Mrs.
Frances Gilbert, Red Cross chair-
man of the Michigan Council,
and Mrs. Mamie Stein, chairman
of Pisgah Women, are in charge
of the program. Mrs. Bea Biber-
man is knitting chairman. The
sewing unit meets at the Rose
Sittig Cohen Bldg., under the
chairmanship of Mrs. Emma Sil-
verman. Wednesday is surgical
dressing day for Pisgah Women
at Shaarey Zedek.

planning observance of its 20th
anniversary at a luncheon at the
Book Cadillac on May 21. Mrs.
Samuel Weller is chairman and

HOOD will hold the closing
meeting of the season at a lunch-
