Mrs. Max Kort of 1935 Taylor has returned from Tyler, Tex.,
where she. visited with her son, Pvt. Arthur Kort. She was accom-
panied by Pvt. Kort's wife, Annabel, and their 18-month-old
daughter, Barbara Ilene. Pvt. Kort was . sent to Camp Benning, Ga.,
where he will go to Officers' Training School.
A reception honoring the return of Artie Fields from more
than two years' overseas duty in the Pacific on an aircraft carrier
will be given by his mother, Mrs. Sally Fields, at the home of her
Steer and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Sherman Grosslight of
2341 Boston, at 4 p. m. Sunday. Friends and relatives are invited.

Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Shwayder of Fairfield Ave., accom-
panied by their son, Richard, and Mrs. Shwayder's father, Michael
Clamage of Chicago, will leave this IVIonday for Annapolis, Md.,
to attend the exercises at the Naval Academy on April 25 at which
their son, Warren M., will be commissioned an Ensign in the
U. S. N. R.
Lt. Ed. M. Rosenthal, Jr., who has been serving overseas with
the U. S. Army Air Corps; arrived on Wednesday to spend his
leave with Mrs. Rosenthal and their sons, Edward and Richard
of Parkside Ave.
Signalman 1/c Edmund B. Linx, Jr., who recently returned
from 17 months' service in the South Pacific, is spending a 20-day
leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edmund B. Linx of Byron Ave.
Major and Mrs. Henry Siegel are spending a fortnight with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Meyer Siegel of Santa Rosa Ave. before
going to Miami Beach, - Fla., where Major Siegel, who recently
returned from 27 months service in Iran, will be re-assigned. Mrs.
Siegel made her home with her family in New Orleans while her
husband was overseas.
Seaman 1/c Richard Gach left on Monday for San Francisco
after spending a short leave with his mother, Mrs. Alfred Gach
of Collingwood Ave.
Sgt. Louis Lusky of Calvert Ave. has returned from Fort
Benjamin Harrison, Ind., where he received a few weeks' special
training.
Miss Claire Kleinberg has returned to her home in New York
City after spending a week with her fiance, Warrant Officer Theo-
dore Feingold, who is stationed here. She was a guest at the Book
Cadillac Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Salomon have moved from Burlingame
Ave. and are now residing at 2421 Glynn Ct.
App/S/1/c Robert Schwartz left on April 12 for Manhattan
Beach, N. Y., where he will receive his boot training with the
Coast Guards. His brother, Cpl. Stuart Schwartz, has been on
overseas duty for two years and is now in Germany with the
Aerial Photography Reconnaissance. They are the sons of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Schwartz of Whitmore Rd.
Pvt. Henry Seligman has returned to Chicago where he
is a convalescent in an Army Hospital after spending a week with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Seligman of Burlingame Ave.
He has recently returned from three years' overseas duty.
Mrs. Allan Tolmich, whose husband, Lt. Tolmich, is stationed
at the Portland, Ore., Army Air Base,. is visiting her mother, Mrs.
Peter Vass of the Wilshire Hotel.
Ensia nNWilliam B. Gilles, USNR, who recently returned from
16 months'
b overseas duty, is spending a 30-day leave with his par-
.ents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert J. Gilles of Sturtevant Ave.
Mrs. Ida Weiss of Collingwood Ave. spent a week in Houston,
Tex., where she attended the exercises at Ellington Field on March
28 at which her son, Milton, was commissioned a lieutenant with
the U. S. Army Air Corps. Lt. Weiss, who accompanied his mother
home for a 12-day leave, has returned to Ellington Field.
Miss Dorothy Weiman is leaving Sunday for Washington, D.
C., where she will receive training from the American Red Cross
for overseas service. Her brother, Cpl. Sam Weiman, is stationed
in Burma. They are the children of Mr. and Mrs. Hyman Weiman
of Sturtevant Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Eli Sachse of 1528 Virginia Park will be at home
to. relatives and friends on Sunday, April 29, 3 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.
in honor of their golden wedding anniversary.

Zionists to Buy Aircraft
Carrier in '7th War Loan
WASHINGTON, D. C. — The
Zionist Organization of America
has pledged on behalf of its na-
tionwide membership to raise in
U. S. War Bonds an amount suf-
ficient to sponsor the purchase
of an aircraft carrier of the
"Coral Sea" type (45,000 ton).;
The cost of building such an air-
craft carrier is estimated at ap-
proximately $95,000,000.
