EDITOR'S NOTE: The author of this article, Tobi
Goldoftas, was graduated from National Farm School,
Bucks County, Pennsylvania, March 19, 1944. He major-
er in horticulture. He' worked for a year on farms in
Michigan and is now studying agricultural engineering
at Michigan State College, Lansing, Mich., where his
home is at 501 Sunset Lake, East Lansing.
Born in Kaunas, Lithuania in 1922, son of Mr. and
Mrs. M. Goldoftas now residing at 2630 Hazelwood,
Detroit, Mr. Goldoftas was taken at the age of 6 to
Belgium by his parents, and resided there for 12 years.
He fled the Germans in 1940 and was a refugee in
France until December of that year when he came to
the United States, with his parents. He entered the
National Farm School in April, 1941.

Palestine Economic
Conference in N.Y.

NEW YORK—A Palestine Eco-
nomic ConferenCe, sponsored by
the Palestine Economic Bureau
in association with the Palestine
Fodndation Fund, will be held
May 5 and 6, at the Plaza Hotel,
Dr. Israel Goldstein, president of
the Zionist Organization of Am-
erica, announced. The purpose of
the conference is to acquaint Am-
erican business men with Pales-
tine's possibilities and opportuni-
ties as the center of the Near
East markets, and the service
which American business men
can render in that direction.
