Hadassah Luncheon April 1
Dr. Carl Hermann Voss, ex-
ecutive secretary of the Christ-
ian Council on Palestine, will
address the opening luncheon of

- Dr. Voss, a noted student of
international problems, is known
for his efforts in promoting in-
ternational friendship 'among all
denominations. A graduate of
the Union Theological Seminary
in New York, he received his de-
gree of Doctor of Philosophy
from the University of Pitts-
burgh.

"Jive Junction" First in
Series of Center Dances •
"Jive Junction", to be spon-
sored by the Romulets at the
Jewish Community' Center on
Saturday, April 7, will be the
first in a series of bi-weekly In-
termediate Council dances to be
given by the various groups in
,;the division. The 12th Street
Council Center will follow with
an Intermediate Variety Show
on Saturday, April 21.
Hal Brode, chairman of the
committee in charge of arrange-
ments, has indicated that a pro-
gram featuring music by Bernie
Wenst and his orchestra has
been arranged for the evening.

day, 8 to 11:30 p. m., in Butzel

To Be Observed in U.S., May 6-13
Poale Zion Will Open
Hachsharas for 1,600
ISTANBUL (JPS) — A reso-
lution calling for the opening of
Hachsharas (training farms) for
1,600 boys and girls to prepare
them for Palestine, was adopted
at the Poale Zion Labor Zion=
ist conference here — the first
held in Bucharest since Rom-
ania's liberation. Sixty-one dele-
gates, representing 8,000 mem-
bers, participated.
NEW YORK—The third an-
nual Religious Book Week will
be observed in 1945 during the
week of May 6 to 13, under the
sponsorship of the National
Conference of Christians and
