in Thrilling Picture

---
Col. Edwin C. Cooper's "Pal-
estine Today", shown at the Art
Institute March 8, under the di-
rection of George Pierrot of the
World Adventure Series, is a
very great film. .

One would have to be made
of clay not to feel the thrill of
human achievement revealed in
this technicolor film.

It is revelatory in every res-
pect. It shows convincingly how
Jews have converted sand-dunes
into garden spots, how the great
efforts inspired by Zionism have
brought sanitation, culture and
the humanitarian spirit to Pal-
estine.

Col. Cooper (DSC), a war hero,
spoke during the showing of his
film. He is not an eloquent
speaker, but he is a convincing
man, and when he showed pic-
tures of happy Jewish children
and declared that "their price-
less lives are being salvaged"
through the efforts of the Jew-
ish community, he sent a thrill
through his audience.

The Jewish Publication Society
of America, now in its 58th year,
is the world's largest publisher
of Jewish books in English. Of-
ficers are J. Solis-Cohen, Jr.,
president, Justice Horace Stern,
vice president, Howard A. Wolf,
treasurer, Maurice Jacobs, execu-
tive vice president.

George F. Pierrot, director of
the World Adventure Series
which sponsored the picture, in-
troduced Col. Cooper.
