Prof. Harold - Tallman preceded
Miss Thompson's address.
Miss Thompson placed em-
phasis on two major needs after
the war in her 70-minute ad-
dress: The need for the establish-
ment of a Federated Europe, and
the necessity for colonizing
Alaska with more than a million
Europeans who will be anxious
to leave their native countries
after the war.
The Federated Europe plan
was advocated by the eminent
guest speaker as the only way
of educating Germans to turn
into Europeans, in order to
establish a happy Europe and
thus avoid another world war
and to make a world organiza-
tion that is sensible.
Miss Thompson resorted to an
analogy with the great Jewish
colonization experiment in Pales-
tine in speaking of the import-
ance of her Alaskan project.
Several times in her address she
referred to the historic work of
the Halutzim in Palestine.
