"Henrietta Szold:. Jewish
Saint" . will be the title of the
sermon in which Rabbi Leon
Fram w ill memorialize the
founder of the Hadassah move-
ment, which has transformed
Palestine to one of the healthiest
countries of the world.
The tribute will be delivered
at the Sabbath Eve services of
Temple Israel in the Lecture
Hall of the Detroit Institute of
Arts; Friday night, • March 9, at
8:30. •
Rabbi Fram has visited Pales-
tine several times, knew Miss
Szold personally, and saw the
health, centers, nursing stations
and hospitals which Miss Szold
conceived and established for the
service of both Arabs and Jews.
Officers of the local Hadassah
chapters have asked their mem-
bers to attend the services.
On Sunday morning, March 4,
the children of Temple Israel
will hold their annual Purim
masquerade at Hampton School,
18460 Warrington Drive. The
children will see a play entitled
"Purim Pranks", written and
directed by Miss Barbara Green-
berg, and will hold the grand
March, at which costumes will
be inspected by judge's and • the
winning class given its award.
There will be Purim refresh-
ments.
This Friday night, Temple
Israel holds its annual Purim
family- Sabbath Eve service,
when members are invited to
come with their children. Rabbi
Fram's sermon topic is "The
Punishment of the War Crim-
inals."

The -winning class of the Purim Masquerade held at Temple
Israel Relgious School at Harripton School, 18460 Warrington Dr.,
last Sunday morning. This class was declared the winner because
of the large proportion of its pupils who came in costume ; and
because Of the variety and originality of the costumes. The teacher
of the class is Miss Ruth. Soifer, of grade 4.
