ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Airy

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Aaronson of Santa Rosa Drive entertained
relatives and friends at a buffet dinner celebrating their 30th
wedding anniversary. Their son, Bernard, of Los Angeles, was
here for the occasion.
Mrs. S. K. Slobin of the Seward Hotel was hostess to 10
friends at the Book Casino fashion show in honor of Mrs. Joseph
Sussman and daughter, Beatrice, of Tacoma, Wash.
Mrs. Irving I. Edgar was ,hostess to a group of friends at
luncheon at the Women's City Club on Thursday.
Lt. and Mrs. F. Weiss (Sally Jo Weller) and infant daughter,
Michele, have returned to Denver, Colo., where Lt. Weiss is sta-
tioned, after a brief visit here with their parents.
Pvt. Edward Weller is at home with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Samuel L. Weller of Wildemere Ave., on a convalescence
.furlough. He was wounded in Italy on July 7.
Mrs. Walter L. Field of 17152 Cherrylawn has returned from
Utica, N. Y., where she was called by the death of her brother,
Charles D. • Damsky.
Miss Matilda Rosenberg, of Seward Ave., entertained last Friday
in honor of Sylvia Froos of the staff of "Tons of Fun."
Mrs. David King, president of the Infants' Service Group, enter-
tained the cast of "Showtime" at a luncheon in the Book Cadillac
Hotel, Feb. 14.
Mrs. George Freedman of Whitmore Road is spending the
remainder of the winter in Miami Beach, Fla., where Mr„. Freed-
man will join her next month.
Dr. and Mrs. Albert E. Bernstein of 2400 W. Boston Blvd.
have left for a week's stay in New York where they were joined
by their son, Sander, of the University of Michigan and their
daughter, Miriam, of Rockwood Park School, Boston.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Erman of 2925 Oakman Court will be at
home to 'relatives and friends from 8 to 12 p. m. on Sunday in
honor of their 50th wedding anniversary. No cards.
Pfc. Gerald Gordon, who recently was graduated from the
Army Air Force Gunnery School in Harlingen, Tex., is home on
furlough with his parents, Mr. and MrS. Benjamin B. Gordon, 4782
Leslie.
Ted Gell and Leonard Gorman have returned from a brief
visit to New York, where they visited with former Detroiters.
Mr. and Mrs. Israel Himelhoch of the Whittier Apt. have re-
turned from Palm Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Walter Laib of Strathcona Dr. are spending a
week in New York City with their daughters, Janet, who is on va-
cation from the University of Michigan, and Dean, who is attend-
ing the George School in Philadelphia. Mr. and Mrs. Laib will go
on to Palm Beach, Fla., where they will spend a few weeks before
returning home.
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Srere and their daughter, Babs, of
Boston Blvd. are spending a week in New 'York City.
Robert Enggass returned to Harvard University Tuesday
lowing a few days' vacation spent with his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Enggass of Cumberland Way.
Jerry Shroder left last Saturday for Fort Sheridan to be in-
ducted into the Army. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph S.
Shroder of Birmingham.
Mrs. Burton Clamage of San Juan Dr. left Tuesday for Los
Angeles, where she will visit her son and daughter-in-law, Lt. (j.g.)
and Mrs. Irwin Clamage.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur W. Schlesinger of Boston Blvd. returned
Wednesday from New Orleans where they visited their children,
Dr. and "Mrs. Richard Greene.
Mrs. Sol Abramsohn, of Chicago Blvd., left Thursday for Los
Angeles where she will visit her family.

documentary motion pictures, as
narrator. Sunday afternoon at
3:30 Line will be guest speaker
of the World Adventure Series
with a natural color, motion pic-
ture entitled, "Sheep, Stars and
Solitude".

OF Congregation Bnai Moshe
will have an informal Purim par-1
ty Saturday night. There will
be Purim games, refreshments
and dancing. Servicemen have

at the Bnai Moshe. Funds will
be used for the Red Cross and
Mo'os Chitim and to purchase
100 decks of playing cards for
convalescing servicemen at Percy
Jones Hospital.

partnership of Karbel and Eiges
with offices in the Barium
Tower.

CAPT. DARREL BRADY will
speak at Detroit Town Hall in
the Fishe Theater next Wed-
nesday at 11 a. m. His subject
will be "Why We Win". This is
a return engagement for the
popular 28-year-old speaker. He
made his first inspirational talk at
Town Hall in 1941 after working
his way around the world.

Organized in Detroit

Several new Young Judaea
groups have been organized here.
Shoshanna Sharon Group is
under the leadership of Elise
Zeme.
A group has been organized in
tribute to Mrs. Dora Ehrlich for
her devotion to Zionism and ser-
vice to the Jewish community.
The Dora Ehrlich Young Jud-
aeans are sponsored by Ruth
Lewis and Estelle Bussell.
The Zeire Zion Young Jud-
aeans are led by Zena Etkin.
Young Judaea Debs are directed
by use Lonnestater.
A new University Area group
will be organized. Sunday, March
4 at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Walter Field, 17152 Cherrylawn.
Girls 13-15 living in the Six and
Seven Mile road area are in-

marriage of Miss Estelle Amer-
nick, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Hyman Amernick of Griggs
Ave., and Morris Birnbaum, son

of New York, was performed in
Temple Sinai, Brooklyn, N. Y.,
on Feb. 18.
Rose Amernick, the bride's
sister, was maid of honor. Cpl.
Milton Amernick, USMC, her
brother, was best man.
A dinner was served to 60
guests, including several from
Baltimore, Md., and the follow-
ing from Detroit: Mr. and Mrs.
Sam Weinberg, Mr. and Mrs.
Herbert Levin and M. Gold-
smith.
The couple will make their
home in Detroit.
