ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Mr. and Mrs. dney Allen, of Lincolnshire Drive; and Mr. and
Mrs. Nate Shapero, of Strathcona Drive, left on Thursday to spend
a few weeks in Phoenix, Ariz.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Shwayder, of Fairfield avenue, left
Tuesday for a few weeks in Phoenix, Ariz.
Dr. and Mrs. Michael Freeman have moved from Boston -boule-
vard and are now residing at 1860 Wellsely Drive.
Cadet.Midshipman Theodore Kelter, Jr., is spending•a few weeks
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theodbre Kelter, of Cherrylawn
avenue, before going to Kings Port, L. I., to finish his training with
the 'Merchant Marine OFT.
Mrs. Joseph Burak, of Longfellow avenue, has returned from
Grand Rapids where she visited her mother, Mrs. Benjamin Wolfe.
Mrs. Louis Michael, of Kansas City, Mo., is spending a few
weeks with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Baum,
of Fairfield avenue, and her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Leon
Schembeck, of Monte Vista avenue.
Dr. Benjamin D. Welling left Tuesday for Tucson, Ariz., where
he will spend a few weeks.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Soss and their daughters, Betty and Ellen,
of Balmoral Drive, are visiting in New York City.
R/T Richard Kahn, who recently completed hiS Radar course,
spent/a few days with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivor Kahn, of
Chicago boulevard, before going to his new post in Shoemaker, Cal.
Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Marks, of Mt. Clemens, have returned
from a week's stay in Toronto.
Mr. and Mrs. Roger Ettlinger,•of Pennington Drive, had as their
guests last week-end, Mr. and Mrs. Max Lorber, of St. Louis, Mo.
Mrs. Ralph Davidson, of Chicago boulevard, is spending the
week in New York City where she visited her daughter ; Dorothy,
and her brother-in-law and sister, Dr. and Mrs. Jack Uhr, of New
Brunswick, N. J.
F/O Arnold Rodin, who had been stationed at Moody Field,
Ga., spent a few days' leave .with his mother, Mrs: Harry Rodin, of
Boston boulevard, before going to his new post at Nashville, Tenn.
Mrs. Simon Weisman, of Leslie avenue, has returned from a
shOrt visit in Cleveland.
A/S Donald Thal, son. of Mr. \and Mrs. Ellis Thal, of Glynn court,
left Friday for. the Great Lakes Naval Training Center.
Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Laikin, of LaSalle boulevard, returned
Tuesday from a visit in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Smilansky, of Burns Drive, were hosts to
their family and a group of friends at a dinner in their home last
Saturday evening in celebration of Mr, Smilansky's 60th birth-
day. Coming from out-of-town were Mrs. Smilansky's brother-in-
law and sister, Mr. and Mrs.. Alfred Frank, of Petoskey, Mich., and
her sister, Mrs. Herbert Levy, of Hamden, Conn. Mr. and Mrs.
Benjamin Saltzstein, of Milwaukee, were the house guests of Mr.
and Mrs. Harold Simons, of LaSalle boulevard.
