Tito Warns • Looters
Of Jewish Property

CAIRO (JPS):--According to
Yugoslav circles here, Marshal.
Tito has ordered all municipali-
ties in liberated Yugoslavia to
warn' looters that: their own prop-
erty be confiscated if they
do not return Jewish property
they had come into poSSession
of during the Gerinan occuPa-
ton. .
Whether acting an a general
government directive or on the
personal directive of Marshal
Tito, the municipal administra-
tions of Novisad, Beckerek and
other 'towns in the liberated' areas
have already transmitted this
warning to the populaee.
The warning followed the .dis-
covery by. Jewish- refugees, on
their return to :Novisad and
Beckerek, that their homes had
been occupied by - others and that,
where the homes were vaeant,
all the furniture had been re-
moved. Many •of the returned
. were demobilized partisans, in-
valided in the. service of Mar-
shal Tito.

Benjamin Levinson has been

The famous Operetta 'Quartet
comes to the Masonic Temple on
- Monday evening.
The feature artists in this
quartet, known as "The Foot-
light Favorites," are Adelaide
Abbot, •soprano; Lenore Rae,
mezzo-soprano; Edward Kane,
tenor; John Brownlee, baritone
of the Metropolitan Opera. Kurt
Adler of the Metropolitan is mu-
sical director. Marcel Frank is
at the piano.

Obituaries
A. ANTHONY FROMM of
25836 Pembroke Rd., Huntington
Woods,' died last Saturday when
struck by a truck in Royal Oak.
Funeral services were held Sun-
day with Rabbi Leon Fram of-
ficiating. Burial was in Clover
Hill Park Cemetery. Mr. Fromm,
a representative of Fort Wayne
Mortgage Co., who was born in
Pittsburgh March 17, 1885, is
survived by his wife, Edith; two
sons, Pvt. Jack D., now in Eng-
land, and Thomas„ and a sister,
Mrs. Fabbie Brudno.

Zedek -and former district' Scout
commissioner and is a member
of Detroit and MiChigan Bar
AssOciation.
After graduating from Central •
High, he attended Drake Uni-
versity and: Wayne LaW School.
Son of Mrs: Ruth. Rosen of

the former Rhoda Glanzrock. He
has resumed his law practice in

The Detroit Round Table of
Catholics, Jews and Protestants
announces that Stanley Diniond,
recently appointed director of
citizenship education in the De-
troit Public Schools, has accept-
ed appointment on the Educa-
tional Commission of the Na-
tional Conference of Christians
and Jews.
Formerly supervisor of social
studies in the Detroit Public
Schools, Mr. Dimond has been
placed in charge of the study
project financed in the amount of
$425,000 by the William Volker
Charities Fund of Kansas City.
Dr. Marion. Edman, supervisor
of language education in the De-
troit Public Schools, likewise has
acepted appointment, on the edu-
cational commission of • the Con-
ference.
Both Mr. Dimond ' and Dr.
Edman attended a meeting of the
EduCational Coriimission of the
National Conference in New
York City to plan the further
educational program of 'the or-
ganization.
Dr. Edgar DeWitt Jones of Cen-
tral Woodward Christian Church
and the Rev. Joseph J. Mayne,
executive secretary 'of the De-
troit Round Table, went to the
Rhoades General Hospital at
Utica, N. Y., to address the offic-
ers and men on Jan. 22. They
were joined there by a Catholic
priest and a rabbi from the local
area. This visit was arranged by
Chaplain Morris Adler, who is
on leave from Congregation
Shaarey Zedek and who since
has been transferred overseas.
While in Utica 'Dr. Jones and Mr.
Mayne were the guests of Mrs.
Adler and daughter, Shularnith.
