Council Postpones
Planned Institute

Because of unforseen difficul-
ties, James I. Ellmann, president
of the Jewish Community Coun-
cil, announces that the annual
Council Institute scheduled for
Jan. 21, has been postponed.
Mr. Ellmann indicated that the
prominent national speakers who
had been invited to participate
in the discussion notified him
that they _would be unable to' at-
tend. •
The date of the Institute has
been changed to Sunday, March
11, at the Jewish Center.
In place of the Institute, a
quarterly conference of Council
delegates will be held on Sunday
evening, Jan. 21, in the Jewish
Community Center. The program
committee consisting of Joseph
Bernstein, Lawrence Crohn, Rab-
bi Leon Fram, Dr. Leo Franklin,

son, Harry Kaminer, Leon Kay,
and Julian Krolik, will work out
the agenda for this conference.

Will Address League
Of Women's Societies

Victor H. Bernstein, noted war
correspondent, member of the
Jewish Telegraphic Agency staff

Mr. Bernstein was a feature
writer for the Sunday section of
the New York Times until 1937.

Romania, Czechoslovakia and
Austria. He returned to the
United States shortly before the
war, joined PM in June 1940,
and has been with this paper's
foreign department since. He is
now its acting foreign editor.
Mrs. Robert Lewiston, program
chairman, arranged this out-
standing program.
Mrs. Douglas I. Brown, presi-
dent, extends an invitation to
all members of affiliated organi-
zation to attend this meeting.

Socialism, Jewish history and
other related topics were collect-
ed by members.
