Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Brody and son, Bud, -are spending- the
winter months in Florida.
Miss Helen Salk of 4333 Glendale and Miss Sharron Mindell
of 3290 Collingwood have returned from New York where they
spent the holdiay vacation period. -
Miss Fayanne Greenblatt has returned to the University of
Illinois after spending a 10-day vacation with her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Jerry J. Greenblatt of Fairfield Ave.
Milton S. Conway, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Conway of Oak-
man Blvd., returned to Florida Military Academy last Friday after
spending his vacation with his parents.
Dr. and Mrs. Samuel T. Winshall of Pennington Drive are
spending few weeks in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Bordman were hosts at a surprise wedding
anniversary party in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Schriber, on Dec.
24, at their home. Among the guests was the Schribers' son, Cpl.
Alvin Schriber, who was home on furlough from Camp Bowie,
Texas.
Mrs. Louis Goldberg of the Belcrest entertained a group of
friends at luncheon and cards on Jan. 2 at the Women's city Club.
Mrs. William Goodman of the Wilshire Hotel is visiting for a
month in Martinsville, Ind.
Mr. and Mrs. Irving H. Wohlman of 1495 Fullerton Ave. were
hosts on Dec. 24 at a cocktail party at their home.

folk, Va., for the New Year week-end.
Miss Estelle Faye Torgow, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J.
Torgow of Cortland Ave., spent her holiday vacation in Montreal.
Mr. • and Mrs. Max H. Elias of Cortland Ave. were hosts to
relatives and friends on Jan. 1, at a cocktail and• buffet dinner
celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Monroe Rosenfield of the Belcrest had as her guest last
week Mrs. Albert Michaels of Los Angeles.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph S. Shroder of Birmingham are spending a
week in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. William Fleischman and son, Mickey, of Cam-
bridge Road spent the last week-end in Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Theodore 011eisheimer of Eason Ave. and Dr. and
Mrs. Joseph Bleier of Muirland Ave. have returned froth a 10-day
stay. in New York City.
Mrs. Oscar Blumberg is planning to leave this Friday for New
York to visit with het son, Capt. Herbert G. Blumberg, who is
stationed at Fort Monmouth, N. J.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ginsburg of Chicago Blvd. have returned
from Chicago where they visited with their son-in-law and daugh-
ter, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Ruskin. After a month's vacation with
her parents, their daughter, Mignon, has returned to her studies
at Mills College, Oakland, Calif.
Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Godsal of Muirland Ave. are planning
to leave next week for Hollywood, Calif.
Mrs. Edwin Rosenthal, Jr. of Parkside Ave. is spending 10 days
visiting in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Goldman of Canterbury Road and Mr. and
Mrs. Emil T. Stern • of Muirland Ave. were hosts to a group of
friends at dinner at Hotel Statler last Saturday evening.

Dr. Glazer to Speak

Rabbi B. Benedict Glazer will
be the guest speaker at the Hon-
or Roll tea of Business and Pro-
fessional Group of Hadassah on
Sunday, at 2:30 p. m., at the War-
dell Sheraton.
Cantor Robert Tulman will be
the soloist, accompanied by Miss
Evelyn Gurvitch at the piano.
The response to the Honor Roll
call has enabled a sizeable con-
tribution to be made to the cause
of Palestine's redemption.
Begun in 1912 with a modest
program of child welfare, Had-
assah's program in the Holy Land
now includes the administration
and maintenance of a country-
wide network of hospitals, pub-
lic health and child welfare sta-
tions, a system of recreation, vo-
cational education, emergency
feeding, child refugee work and
land reclamation.
Miss Sophie Blanche Schwartz,

Detroit Business and Professional
Division, of Hadassah.

After a short trip to Chicago,

event of Pioneer Women, at a
concert at the Masonic Audi-
torium, Jan. 23 at 1:30 P. M.

Proceeds assist the Working
Women's Council of Palestine in
carrying on their expanded vo-
cational and educational pro-
gram and aid a building fund
for the expansion of children's
institutions in Palestine.
Eight months residence in the
Near East, including Palestine,
where her husband was con-
ducting his "Land Use Studies",
convinced Mrs. Lowdermilk that
"the Jewish colonies have done
the finest reclamation of old
lands found in three continents"
and that "they are the most suc-
cessful of modern times." After
ten years spent in China and
in extensive travels throughout
Europe, Korea, Japan and North
Africa, Mrs. Lowdermilk is able
to speak at first hand about the
progress being made in these
lands, and to compare them with
Palestine's agricultural, indus-
trial and social development.
