Marriages

Recent Bride

Dr. and Mrs. Irving I. Edgar of Linwood Ave. were hosts at a
cocktail and dinner party at their home on Jan. 3.
Dr. and Mrs. Julius M. Stern and their children, Shelly and
Mark, formerly of Detroit, are now making their home on Mountain
View Road, Pasadena, Calif.

Mr. and Mrs. David B. Brown of Grand Ave. have returned
home after a month's vacation in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Welt of Boston Blvd. are spending a few
weeks in Warm Springs, Va.

Mr. and Mrs. Julian G. Wolfner of Burlington Dr. left Thurs-
- day for a few weeks in Palm Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Enggass of Cumberland Way have as
their guest their niece, Miss Helen Bienenstock of New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Miller of Cincinnati spent the last
week-end with Mr. Miller's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs.
Sidney Weisman of Suffolk Dr.
Mr. and Mrs. Melville S. Welt of Balmoral Dr. have returned
from Chicago.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Soss of Balmoral Dr. have invited a
group of their friends to a dinner this Saturday evening.
Mrs. A. M. Goldman has returned to her home in Cincinnati
following a 10-day visit with her uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs.
Gerald May of Wildemere Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin H. Baer and family of Fairfield Ave.
have returned from South Bend, Ind., where they spent a week
with Mrs. Baer's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ira Ciralsky.
Mr. and Mrs. Melvin J. Kuttnauer of Canterbury Rd. are
planning to leave this Sunday for a week in New York City.
Mr. and Mrs. Morton Aschner of Glynn. Ct. have returned from
a few weeks stay in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mrs. L. M. Heidenreich is leaving Friday for her home in
Iowa City, Ia., following a visit mlith her son-in-law and daughter,
Mr. and Mrs. Louis Baum of Fairfield Ave.
Mrs. Milton Donor of Renfrew Rd. spent the last week-end
visiting friends in Cleveland. •
Dr. and Mrs. Herbert M. Smith of Shrewsbury Rd. returned
Wednesday from New York City.
Capt. Samuel Gingold who is stationed at Camp Hood, Temple,
Tex., is the guest of Mrs. Gingold's mother, Mrs. Joseph H.
Ehrlich. Mrs. Gingold has been here a few weeks.
Wariant Officer Arthur Howard who has recently returned
from 1 1/2 years of service in New Delhia, India, is spending a
10-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Howard
of Burlingame Ave. before leaving for Fort Sam Houston, Tex.,
where he will attend Officers Candidate School.
Mrs. Manuel Feerer of. the Polk Manor Apt. has returned from
a visit in St. Louis, Mo.
In celebration of their 12th wedding anniversary, Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Ehrlich of Boston Blvd. were at home to a group of
friends on Dec. 31.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Schaflander have as their guests their
daughter-in-law, Mrs. Gerald M. Schaflander, and her small
daughter, Susan Joan. Lt. Schaflander is stationed at Biloxi, Miss.
Jean Laib, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Laib of Strath-
cona Dr., and Maryanne Shapero, daughter . of Mr. and Mrs. Nate
Shapero of Strathcona Dr. were co-hostesses at a dancing party
at the Great Lakes Club
Dr., Friday evening.
Mr. , and Mrs. Benjamin Fink of the Lee Plaza Apt. have
returned from New Orleans where they spent the last 10 days
with their son and daughter-in-law, S/Sgt. and Mrs. Arthur Fink.
Miss Edith Langer, Red Cross social worker, who has been
stationed at Fort Riley, Kan., is spending a fortnight with her
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Langer of Fullerton Ave. before going
to her new post at the Percy Jones Hospital in Battle Creek.
Ensign Ramon Gerson spent a few days with his parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Myer Gerson of Oakman Blvd.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry C. LeVine of Muirland Ave. have as
their guest, Mrs. I. L. Tevalof of Belmont, Mass.

Glendale Ave., became the bride
of S/Sgt. Simon Rotter, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Rotter of
New York, at a ceremony held
in November at Hotel Fort
Shelby. Rabbi A. M. Hershman
and Cantor J. H. Sonenklar of-
ficiated.
The bride was gowned in
heavy white satin, distinguished
by illusion net and white appli-
que. Her veil was of illusion
net and was held in place by a
seed pearl tiara. She carried a
white satin muff edged in Pointe
de Venice lace and covered with
white orchids.
The matron of honor, Mrs.
Harold Weinstein of New York,
was gowned in a blue taffeta
period gown, and the maid of
honor, Miss Theda Bram of New
York, wore pale green net. Mrs.
Rotter's attendants were the
Misses Ida Eisensmith, Beat-rice
Jacobs 'of Chicago, Bertha Rob-
inson, Ruth Stone, and Mrs. May-
nard M. Feldman. The junior
bridesmaid was Janet Sell.
Norman Rotter, brother of the
bridegroom, and S 1/c Henry
Posner, brother of the bride, as-
sisted.
Covers were laid for 200
guests in the Spanish ballroom.

MRS. RUBEN ISAACS

Mrs. Ruben Isaacs, the former
Miss Irene Weingarden, is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis.
Weingarden of _Calvert Ave. Her
marriage to Sgt. Isaacs, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Isaacs, was
solemnized Dec. 17 at Webster
Hall.

BNAI BRITH GIRLS' Pisgah
Lodge Frances Solovich Group, is
sponsoring a scrap drive Sunday,
at 10:30 a. m., at the corners of
Clairmont and Linwood. Pro-
ceeds of the drive will be dis-
tributed among war service or-
ganizations. Boy Scout Troop 23
will assist the girls, who will be
accompanied by Mrs. Edith
Goodman, the girls' sponsor, and
Mr. Goodman. For information

or Sylvia Kosit, TY. 7-9274. The
next meeting of Frances Solo-
vich Girls will be on Jan. 10,
when the girls will complete
preparations for the Barn Dance

TEL AVIV, (JTA) — Estab-
lishment of a Palestine shipping
company with at least 250,000
tons of cargo and passenger ves-
sels was urged at the third an-
nual conference of the Palestine
Maritime League by Bar-Kochba
Meirovitz, director of the mari-
time department of the Jewish
Agency.
