With $3,135,850: Nathan Fishman Top Salesman •
With $893,850; Franklin Hills Second

With Knollwood Country Club again leading all local
organizations in the 6th War Loan, its members reaching
$3,135,850 in bond sales, it was indicated this week that the
Jewish country clubs, congregations and organizations have
exceeded the $12,000,000 total attained in the last drive.
Harry N. Grossman directed Knollwood's drive.

Of Butzel Forest

Laborites Pledge 750 Trees;
Rudensky Speaks in Honor
of Sendlers in Flint

Complying with the decision
of the Jewish National Fund
Council of Detroit to complete
the Fred M. Butzel Forest in
Palestine this year, the J. N. F.
labor department, at a meeting
held last Sunday, decided to ac-
cept a quota of 750 trees for the
coming months for the comple-
tion of this Detroit project.
William Hordes, president of
the J. N. F. Council, stated that
approximately 3,000 more trees,
at $1.50 a tree, must be planted
to complete the Butzel Forest.
Rudensky Speaks
Mordecai Rudensky of the na-
tional office, who was in Detroit
for the day, addressed the labor
department meeting. Delegates
were present frorri Jewish Na-
tional Workers' Alliance, Poale
Zion, League of Labor Palestine,
Pioneer Women, Hobonim and
Hashomer Hatzair.
Harry Schumer is chairman of
the J.N.F. labor department.
Mr. Hordes reported that in
addition to the 750 trees pledged
by this department, he had also
received $375 from the League
for Labor Palestine for the
planting of 250 trees in the
Butzel Forest.
Sendler Honored
Mr. Rudensky visited in De-
troit after attending the Friday
night gathering at the Jewish
Community Center of Flint in
honor of the 25th wedding an-
niversary of Mr. and Mrs. Israel
Sendler.
The Sendlers' request that con-
tributions to the Jewish National
Fund be made by their friends
in lieu of gifts is expected to
bring a large sum to the Pales-
tine land-redemption fund. Mr.
and Mrs. Sendler inscribed the
Flint community in the Golden
Book; their children inscribed
them in the Book; dunams and
trees were purchased in their
honor. The Nichamin Family
Club of Detroit purchased a
number of trees. A community
committee was chosen to assure
the raising of a large JNF fund
in the Sendlers' honor.

Nathan Fishman, who sold
$893,850 worth of bonds for the
Knollwood drive, is believed to
be one of the top-ranking sales-
men in the city.
Franklin Hills Country Club,
under the chairmanship of J.. J.
Tobias and Max Zivian, reached a
total of $2,285,650.
Shaarey Zedek's Total
Congregation Shaarey Zedek,
Whose drive was conducted by
Maurice Seligman and Norman
Snider, has accounted for a
total bond sale of $1,250,000.
Temple Beth El has reached
the goal of $893,250.

scribed $200,000.
