Of ZOA's Emergency Council

Dr. Silver's resignation as co-chairman of body is accepted and
Dr. Stephen S. Wise is re-elected as sole leader . . . Demand
for emergency ZOA convention made by Eastern Zionists in
resolution urging "that complete unity be restored in the

Offieial-,shrine dedicated to American journalism's preservation of "freedbm of the
press," first of the many guarantees of the Bill of Rights, the . speakers included:

Press; JAMES S. STILES, former president of the Newspaper Publishers Associa-
tion of New York State; JUDGE JOSEPH M. PROSKAUER, president of the
American Jewish Committee; the REV. W. HAROLD WEIGLE, D.D., rector of St.
Paul's; (rear) the REV. F. HAWKS POTT, D.D., president emeritus of St. Paul's
University, Shanghai, China (left) ; and NICHOLAS ROOSEVELT, who presided
