reunited in England. \
Louis, who has been overseas
since last May, was wounded in
action in France. The possessor
of the Purple Heart and. the
Bronze Star for bravery beyond
the line of duty, he was sent to
a Physical Training School upon
his release from the hospital. He
completed his course several
weeks ago and now is serving
in England as an instructor of
physical education. -
Emil, attached to Headquart-
ers of the 343rd Medical Battal-
ion, arrived overseas a few
weeks ago. Both servicemen
have been in the army over two
years.
Sgt. Emil Klein was an as-
sistant manager for the Schiff
Shoe Co. -before entering service
and is married to the former
Betty Jane Felsot, who resides
at 4203 W. Grand Ave.
Sgt. Louis Klein enlisted upon
graduation from Cass Tech. He
is engaged to Helen Freedman,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S.
Freedman, 3200 Glendale Ave.

2 German Refugees_

Back as U. S. Officers

WITH THE NINTH ARMY,
(JTA)—T.wo German Jews who
fled the Reich as refugees re-
turned there last wek as officers
in the United States Army.
They are: Lt. Ernst Kaufman,
who was imprisoned at one time
in the notorious Buehenwald
concentration camp, and Lt.
Edgar Holton. The officers are
probably the first German Jews
who have become naturalized
Americans to return to the
Reich. Kaufman said that when
he last heard of his parents, they
were in a concentration camp.
