Under the auspices of the Detroit Round Table
of Catholics, Jews and Protestants. held at Fort
Knox, Ky., thousands of soldiers and WACs joined
- the entire. ARTC unit in a number of services, in-
cluding an outdoor meeting at which the above
photograph was taken. Dr. B. Benedict Glazer,
Rabbi of Temple Beth El, Detroit, was one of the
principal speakers at these services.

Men's Club Conducts Dec.
Services; Rabbi Fram to
Speak This Friday

The Men's Club of Temple Is-
rael will conduct the Sabbath
Eve Service . of Friday night, Dec.
1, at 8:30, in the Lecture Hall-of
the Detroit Institute of Arts.
The sermon will be delivered
by Nathaniel Goldstick, who will
preach on "Judah P. Benjamin-
. The Odyssey of a Refugee."
Charles L. Goldstein, president
of the congregation, will read
in Hebrew from the Scroll. Par-
ticipating in the prayer service
will 'be Sol R. Colton, Reuben
Levine and Charles A. Aller.
Jacob A. Citrin, president of
the Men's Club, is in charge of
• arrangements. Members of the
club also will serve as hosts to
the .congregation during the so-
cial hour following the services.
The Men's Club of Temple Is-
- rael sponsors a. Boy Scout troop,
the extra-curricular activities • of
Temple Israel high school, the
"share-the-ride" plan for the Re-
ligious school, and Sabbath Eve
services as well as programs of
fellowship and friendship in the
congregation and community.
This Friday night Rabbi Fram
speaks on "Thanks for t h e
. Future."

Dr. Glazer to Talk
This Friday on
`Spirit of America'

At the Sabbath Eve services
of Temple Beth El this Friday,
at 8:15 p. in., Dr. B. Benedict
Glazer will speak on "The Auth-
entic Spirit of America—An An-
alysis of Recent Trends in Our
National Life."
The musical program will be
rendered by the Temple quar-
tet, Julius Chajes directing and
Jason Tickton at the organ. A
social hour, under the auspices
of the Temple Sisterhood, will
follow the services.

Rabbi Israel Shorr, national
president of HaPoel Hamizrachi
of America, will address the
Eretz Israel evening at the Sha-
arey Zedek this Saturday night
on the occasion of the comple-
tion of the local drive for Ha-,
Poel Hamizrachi. Rabbi A. M.
Hershman, local chairman, and
David Zeitani, field worker, will
be on the program.

Friday the speakers will be Dr.
Bechtel, the Rev. John F. Quinn,
S. J., Dean College of Arts and
Sciences, University of Detroit,
and Isaac Franck, executive di-
rector of the Jewish Community
Council. On Saturday the speak-
ers will, be Rabbi Leon Frain,
Temple Israel, Dr. T. T. Brum-
baugh, executive Secretary De-
