Bernard Berman Dies

Bernard Berman, a retired
clothing manufacturer, a resident
of Detroit for 60 years, died Sun-
day at the age of 88.
Funeral services were held
Monday at his late residence, 1210
W. Chicago Blvd. Burial was in
Clover Hill Park 'cemetery.
Mr. Berman was one of the
oldest members of Congregation
Shaarcy Zedek. He was affiliated
with all major community and
philanthropic organizations.
Surviving him are eight chil-
dren, Julius, Frank, William,
Lou, Tom I., Esther, Mrs. Harry
Fine, Mrs. R. A. Cott; a brother,
Mandel • Sarasohn; three sisters,
Mrs. Anna Minus, Mrs. Goldie
Luster and Mrs. Rachel Bern-
stein.

MRS. SARAH GELLER, 68, a
Detroit resident for 31 years, of
3032 Fullerton, died Nov. 14. Fu-
neral services were held at Ira
Kaufman Funeral Home Nov. 15.
Burial was in Machpelah Ceme-
tery. Her survivors are her hus-
band, Philip; two sons, Jack and
Morris; three daughters, Mrs.
George Brown, Mrs. William
Frankford and Mrs. Louis Stur-
man; three sisters, Mrs. Rose
Garelik of Jersey City, N. J., Mrs.
Jennie Aken of Buffalo and Mrs.
Yetta Cohen of Springfield,
Mass.; two brothers, Jacob and
Abraham Newman of Springfield,
and eight grandchildren.

MRS. LEE ROTH, 63, died last
Friday. Funeral services were
held Monday at her late resi-
dence, 736 Bethune. Burial was
in Temple Beth El cemetery. She
was a member of the Sisterhood
of Temple Beth El, Council of
Jewish Women and Neugarten
Medical Aid. Surviving are her
husband, Jacob; three sons, Pvt.
Mauro, 'serving with the Army
Medical 'Corps in Europe; S/Sgt.
Robert, overseas with the Army
Air Force; and Jack; a daughter,
Mrs. Ray Bolinger; two brothers,
Jerome and Richard Cole.

HARRY C. COLBURN, who
served as chief investigator for
the prosecutor's office from 1935
to 1940, died last Friday at the
age of 52 after a prolonged ill-
ness. Funeral services were held
Sunday. Burial was in 'Clover
Hill Park Cemetery. Surviving
him, are his wife, Esther of 2031
Gladstone; four sons, Sherwood,
Merton, Allan and Capt. Leslie
of the U. S. Army; two sisters,
Eva and Lena, and a brother,
Sam.

ISRAEL _KAPLAN, 65, of 1938
Calvert., died Monday. Funeral
services were held at Ira Kauf-
man Funeral Home on Dexter.
Burial was in Machpelah ceme-
tery. Survivors are his wife, Lil-
lian; three daughters, Pearl,
Phyllis and Oncela; two sons,
Sheldon of Detroit and Joseph
of Flint.
