Judge A. B. Frey of St. Louis, president of the Hospital Asso- ciation, will be the principal speaker at this meeting, to which all are in- vited. Entertainment will be provided by Mickey Wolfe and his troupe who en- tertain at the USO and Murray Sabi n, former Judge Frey member of the Borrah Minnevitch harmonica group, who will give specialty harmonica numbers. 10,000 Helped Annually David I. Rosin, president of the Greater Detroit Bnai Brith Coun- cil, in a message to members of Bnai Brith, points out that dur- ing the 30 years of Bnai Brith's philanthropic work, more than 10,000 people a year have been helped at the Levi Memorial Hos- pital. Mr. Rosin's letter is accom- panied by the following statement on the hospital's contributions to the war effort: "Almost immediately upon the declaration of war, the Levi Memorial Hospital Association pledged its facilities and assist- ance to the United States Govern- ment and the National Defense Program. The following are the war activities rendered by thiS Bnai Brith Hospital to our coun- try in its war- effort: "It has donated the Steinberg Clinic Building with its staff of doctors and nurses for the use 6f the Selective Service Board of Garland County, Ark. In excess of 200,000 draftees have been ex- amined free in this clinic since Pearl Harbor; vitally important is this service to our government. This, however, has-not interfered with the clinical services to the needy sick. "It is the only means of obtain- ing blood plasma in Garland County, Ark. Trains Nurses Aides "It trains nurses aides in Gar- land County, Ark., who are so vitally needed in all hospital pro- grams of today. It is one of the five designated Cadet Nurses Training Centers in Arkansas for the U. S. Armed Forces. "It maintains additional beds in -the new addition of the hospital which are available for injured defense workers who are em- ployed in War plants in the locale of the hospital. Scientific Records "It recently was selected as the official distributing agency for the Penicillin Drug which has proven so beneficial in helping to save innumerable lives of our men in the Armed Forces. Today this drug is available for civilian needs. "This Hospital is offering its scientific records of the past and present along with its doctors and administrative staff to the Med- ical College of Richmond, Va. This university has been select- ed under the "Baruch" program for the establishment of a center of teaching and research in Hy- drology, Climatology and • Spa Therapy. Bernard Baruch, one of the world's leading financiers, re- cently gave this college $1,100,000 to further the research on these diseases. "The officers and trustees of the Levi Memorial Hospital are aware that by placing the hos- pital's records, its medical and administrative staff and clinic at the disposal of the Medical Col- lege of Virginia, that it will be a contributing factor towards the enlightenment on reconditioning the wounded men of our Armed Forces." Non-Partisan Basis The Leo N. Levi Memorial of- fers its services free to patients from all parts of the U. S. and Canada on a non-partisan basis. It specializes in the care and treatment of arthritis, rheuma-. tism and kindred diseases.
