Be it resolved, etc.

That it is the sense of the Congress of the United States that

The chaos and turmoil which prevails throughout the world has rightfully

awakened us to an apprehension of our future security and well being.

Daily we are apprised of the atrocities and wholesale massacre of our

people abroad and of the persecution and ultimate extinction of our

learned men, who numbered among the world's greatest intellectuals.

We have witnessed the defamation of the Balfour Covenants which in-

sured to us a Jewish National Homeland. Our progress towards achiev-

ing recognition in the society of nations has been jeopardized.
