treasury gifts to the War Chest,
and a large number of others

"As new territories are being
liberated by the victorious march
of the Allied armies, the Jewish
situation in Europe is being re-
vealed in all its stark tragedy.
It is now clear that the work of
the Joint Distribution Commit-
tee and of the United Palestine
Appeal will become even more
urgent. Both of, these agencies,
as well as 50 other local, national
and overseas causes, are included
in the War Chest through the
Allied Jewish Campaign.

"The War Chest also provides
the funds for the USO, the local
agencies of the Detroit Commu-
nity Fund and the war relief ap-
peals for Britain, Russia, China,
Poland and others."
Organizations wishing to have
speakers on the War Chest ad-
dress their meetings may secure
them through the Speakers' Bu-
reau, COlumbia 1600.

Bnai Brith Honors
Senator Cohen, 85
CINCINNATI—An inter-faith
student fellowship at some col-
lege or university in Ohio was
created by the Bnai Brith Na-
tional Hillel Commission in the
name of Senator Alfred M.
Cohen, former president and now
honorary president of Bnai Brith,
on the occasion of his 85th birth-
day on Oct. 19.
Bnai Brith adopted the Hillel
Foundation movement during
Senator Cohen's presidency and
he has been a member of the
Hillel Commission since its in-
ception.
