address the Zionist Organization
of Detroit in the social 'hall 'of
Congregation S h a a r e y Zedek,
Monday, Oct. 30, at 8 p. m. The
public is invited, and members of
the organization have been asked
to invite Christian as _well as
Jewish friends to' hear Mr.
Mowat.
Mr. Mowat twice has headed
delegations of Canadian Chris-
tians to present briefs in behalf
of a Jewish commonwealth in
Palestine to the _Prime Minister
of Canada, and to the Depart-
ment of External Affairs. He is
an.' outstanding writer, contribut-
ing regularly to "Toronto Satur-
day Night", "Magazine Digest"
and "Empire' Digest", and is
heard frequently over the Do-
minion Network of the CBS.
He is about to publish a book
on the life and military career of
Field Marshal Wavell, Viceroy of
-India.

annual Balfour Ball of the Zion-
ist Organization of Detroit, an-
nounces that more than 200 pa-
trons already have been enlisted
for this annual event, to be held
at Hotel Statler, Nov. 11.
Proceeds from the Balfour Ball
are used to finance local Zionist
activities and to provide support
for the youth movements. _

Palestine Orchestra Contest
For V-Day Composition
JERUSALEM, (JTA) — The
Palestine Symphony Orchestra
will celebrate V-Day by playing
a 'specially - commissioned work
marking the occasion, it was an-
nounced here. The work will be
selected in a competition opens to
all composers in. the Middle East.

announced this- week.

clearance of boxes will be con-
cluded as speedily as possible in

The J.D.C. receives its income
from the campaign collections of
the United Jewish Appeal for
Refugees, Overseas Needs and
Palestine, a beneficiary of the De-
troit War Chest.
