Jewish Leaders Urge All to Register
in Order to. Vote in Nov. 7 Election
With only a few .days remaining before the deadline
for registration; an appeEil was issued this week by the
Jewish Community Council's internal relations committee,
urging all Detroit Jews who have not registered to do so at
Once.
The final day for registration is next Wednesday, Oct:
18. The election is Nov. 7.
Qualified voters may register either at the City Hall Or
at stations set Up in schools, police and fire stations.
Dr. B. Benedict Glazer and Joseph Bernstein, co-chair-
men of the Council's internal relations committee, have ad-
dressed a letter to the 203 affiliated organizations of the
Council, urging them to contact their members and to urge
them to register at once.

Women's Club Activities
DNAI BRITH LOUIS MAR-
SHALL WOMEN will have a
membership tea Wednesday eve-
ning at the Workmen's Circle
Educational Center, Linwood and
Lawrence. Mrs. Lillian Aaron,
president of the Michigan Worn-
en's Bnai Brith Council, will be
guest speaker. There will be the
presentation of five awards for
outstanding work, including the
Women's District Grand Lodge
certificates for exceptional re-
sults in the membership drive
to Mrs. Belle Fields and to Mrs.
Vivian Sharkey for her mem-
bership conservation record. The
U. S. Treasury Department gave
a citation to Mesdames Mollie
Goldstein and Gertrude Cross
for record bond sales. In recog-
nition of their services, Women's
Grand Lodge certificates will go
to Mrs. A. L. Prussin, first pres-
ident of Louis Marshall Women,
and Mrs. Florence Adler, paS t
president. The awards will be
presented by Mrs. Mollie Banks,
- president. A social hour, with
refreshments, will follow • the
meeting. Prospective members
are invited.

BRITH will hold their annual

Bnai Brith Day" Sunday,
Oct. 29, at the Jewish Center,
to mark the beginning of the
membership drive. Each of the
auxiliaries will have charge of
an exhibit depicting a phase of
Bnai Brith work. The accom-
plishments of individual groups
also will be portrayed. Oct. 29
to Nov. 5 has been designated
blood donor week for Young
Women of Bnai Brith. Appoint-
ments will be taken at a war
service booth, Oct. 29. Dorothy
Frank is chairman of the meet-
ing and Leah Segal and Mildred
Altman are co-chairmen. All
young women are invited.

Names of 254 Romanian Families Who Arrived in Palestine
and of Hungarian Refugees in Switzerland May Be
Inspeeed Together With Other Lists
The Jewish News has secured through the World Jewish
Congress a list of 254 families, totalling 320 persons, who arrived
in Palestine from Romania on Aug. 14, 1944.
In most cases, this list gives the proper present addresses of
the persons listed, but in cases where the addresses are not given
they can be reached through the Jewish Agency for Palestine.
- The Jewish News has also received this week through Harry
Rosman, president of Congregation Bnai Moshe, a list of Hungarian
refugees who have arrived in Switzerland.
These lists, together with other important lists of names of
Jewish refugees who have been rescued in this country and in
Palestine, or who are seeking relatives in this country, are avail-
able for inspection at the office of The Jewish News, 2114
