Capt. Archibald Ramsey,
Anti-Semite, Released

112-Year-Old Jew
Living in Denver

LONDON (JTA)—Capt. Arch,-
ibald , H. M. Ramsay, pro-fascist
and anti-Semetic member of
Parliament, has been released
from detention, it was announced
by Home Minister Herbert Mor-
rison. Ramsay was arrested in
May, 1940, when the govern-
ment rounded up fascist leader
Sir Oswald Mosley and other
suspect elements ttnder the
amended emergency defense reg-
ulations.
During his four-arid-half years
of detainment Ramsay has flood-
ed Commons with letters attack-
ing the Jews for one reason or
another. Since he . retained his
seat despite his arrest, • the gov-
ernment was forced on several
occasions to take note of his
charges and to reply to them.

Protest Release of Ramsey
LONDON, (JPS)—Protests
were raised here against the un-
conditional release of Captain
Archibald H. M. Ramsey, M. P.

DENVER, (JTA)—The oldest
living Jew in\ the United States
and, perhaps, the entire world,
is residing at present in the Beth
Israel Old Folks Home in the
city, it is disclosed in the Inter-
mduntain Jewish News.
The patriarch is 112-year-old
Mottal Cohen who smokes,
drinks, prays and curses Hitler
daily. A native of Russia, 'Cohen
came to the United States in -1898
from Argentina where he spent
several unsuccessful years on _a
farm provided by the Baron de
Hirsch fund. Mr. Cohen has had
two wives and 12 children, most
of whom are dead. His first
wife died 30 years ago and he
was divorced from his second
when he entered the home 12
years ago at the age of 100.

M. P., whose son was recently
killed in action, called Ramsey
a "rabid anti-Semite," and de-
nounced him in Commons as an
"unspeakable blackguard."
