Nazis Threaten Vengeance
By OTTO SCHICK
LONDON (JTA) -- Prime Minister WinSton Churchill, address-
the House of Commons, announced that the Jewish • Brigade
w being formed will participate in the occupation of Germany.
In the House of Lords, Lord. Strabolgi raised the question of
tether the British government proposes to accept in the Jewish
igade non-British Jewish soldiers now serving in units other than
Palestine battalions. Lord Croft, Under-Secretary of the War
fiee, replying for the government, stated that the basis for the
wish Brigade are the existing PaleStine battalions and further
lestine recruits, but the British government will consider Jews
lunteering from other units. Lord Strabolgi expressed the opinion
:er the session that Jews serving in the British army as well as
ws of neutral and occupied countries can volunteer for service
the Jewish Brigade.
(The Berlin radio, responding to the Churchill statement re-
rding the Jewish Brigade, again threatened world Jewry with
ngeance).

Text of Prime Minister Churchill's Statement
LONDON (JPS-Palcor) — In his war statement in the House of
rnmons, on Sept. 29, Prime Minister Winston Churchill said:
"The British army in Italy includes also Palestinian units. Here
would mention the announcement which the members may
ve read. — and which I think will be appreciated and approved,
at the government has decided to accede to the request of the
wish Agency for Palestine that a JeWish Brigade group be formed
take part in active operations. There are vast numbers of Jew's
ving with our forces and with the American forces throughout
_ two armies, but it seems to me indeed appropriate that a special
it of that race which suffered indescribable treatment from the
izis should be represented in a distinct formation amidst the
rces gathered for the final overthrow. I have : no doubt that they
i ll not only take an active part in the struggle, but in the occupa-
m. which -will follow."
