DeGaulle Plans
Penalty of Death
For Anti-Semitism

The Jewish Agency for Palestine has ap-;
proached the Soviet Embassy in London with
a request for facilities to provide relief to the
Jews in territories of Eastern Europe recently
occupied by the Soviet armies. The agency
acted in behalf of the Palestine Rescue Com-
mittee.
The allegation that "Zionist capital" is seek-
ing to "invade" Lebanon was made by the
Lebanese Minister of the Interior during a
parliamentary debate which resulted in the
passage of severe restrictions on the penetra-
tion of foreign capital into Lebanon.

Mandel's Child
Blames Father's
Death on Petain

WASHINGTON (JPS) —
Claude-George Mandel, 13-year-
old daughter of the late Georges
Mandel, former French Minister
of Interior, has written an open
letter to Marihal Petain accus-
ing him of responsibility for her
father's death, the Office of War
Information reports. The letter
charges that Mandel was assassi-
nated "by those who swore loy-
alty to" Marshal Petain. The
Germans reported that Mandel,
held by them since the armistice,
was killed "accidentally" on July
14; Bastille Day, while being
transferred to a new prison.

mation of a Chilean Committee
for a Jewish Palestine brings the
total . number of pro-Palestine
committees in Latin American
countries to seven, it was learned
here by the Latin American De-
partment of the Jewish Agency
for Palestine. These committees,
composed of non-Jewish sym-
pathizers with Jewish aspirations
in Palestine, are active in Chile,
Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba,
Dutch Guinea, Mexico and Uru-
guay.
