A campaign for $50,000 for the Vaad Hahatzalah Rescue Fund will be conducted in Detroit con- gregations during Rosh Hashanah, plans having been completed at a special meeting of local rabbis and synagogue presidents. Pointing out that Vaad Hahat- zalah, working in cooperation with government agencies, has succeeded in saving thousands of lives, the local committee de- clared that additional funds are necessary because of the new demands upon the Vaad and the need for sending additional food parcels to those who can be reached.
