Celebrate Their
50th Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Abe Goldsmith of
2522 Gladstone Ave. celebrated
their 50th. 'wedding anniversary
last Sunday with a reception for
the immediate family held at the
home of Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Greenberg, 3750 Cortland Ave.
- A dinner for the family was
served at Pereira's.

froM a visit in Charlevoix.

from a week-end stay at Cedar Point.
Mrs. A. D. Markson, formerly of Detroit, who now resides in
Beaver Falls, Pa., visited her many friends here last week. A meet-
ing her honor was arranged by the Ladies Auxiliary of the Kvutzah
Ivrith at the home of Mrs. A. DeRoven, 4067 Kendall Ave.
Adolph Newstatter of 3041 Boston Blvd., in celebration of re-
ceiving his U. S. citizenship papers, entertained a few of his friends
in the London Chop- House.
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Sike and daughters, Teddy. and •Fayanne,
of Dexter Blvd. have returned from a vacation at Lesser's Clover
Lodge, Omena, Mich.
Mrs. Maurice H. Zackheim of Webb Ave. has returned from
Buffalo and Elmira, N. Y., where she visited with relatives and
friends.
Dr. and Mrs. Leo M. Franklin, who have spent the month of
August in Char1N-eiX, are expected to return home on Tuesday,
Sept. 5.
Mss Bertha Robinson of 2740 Fullerton Ave. has returned from
Glendale,. Calif., where she spent the summer.
Pfc. Bruce Koploy returned to Camp Polk, La.,
a two
weeks' visit with his mother, Mrs. Elsa Koploy of 3200 W. Boston

Mrs. Sue Bromberg of the Lee Plaza returned from a visit with
friends in New York.
Miss Jean Holtzman of 3200 Calvert Ave. returned home after
an extended visit with friends and relatives in Los Angeles.

stay in Charlevoix.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Green and daughter, Sonia, of New York
City, who visited with friends and relatives here, have returned

ing two weeks in Bellaire, Mich.
Sally Brown of Lucerne Drive is leaving Wednesday to enter
Vassar College.
Mrs. A. M. Kobacker of Toledo, 0., is visiting her children, Mr.
and Mrs. E. J. Harris of Fairfield Ave.
Mr. and Mrs. Harold Smilay of Balmoral Drive will leave on
Friday for a week's cruise to Duluth.
Mrs. S. Corinblit, president of the Ladies' Auxiliary of Yeshivath
Chachmey Lublin, is in Chicago where she was invited to address
a special meeting of the Yeshivah's Chicago Auxiliary.
Mrs. Harold J. Marks and son, Mitchell Dennis, of 2043 W.
Euclid Ave., have left to spend the winter in Florida. En route,
they are spending a few days in the homes of Mr. and Mrs. M. H.
Levitt and Mr. and Mrs. David Levitt, former Detroit residents,
now residing in Indianapolis, Ind.
Mr. and Mrs. Norman Buckner of Pontac have as their house
guest the latter's sister, Mrs. Louis. Meyers of Peoria, Ill.

Detroit Hadassah's Honor Roll
function has been postponed from
the originally scheduled date of
Sept. 12 to Oct. 4, at 1 p. m., it
was announced this week.
The postponement was made
necessary because the interna-
tionally known Jewish leader
who is scheduled- to address this
event will be unable to appear on
the original date.

The function will be held at
the Detroit Institute of. Art and
will be concluded with a cele-
bration tea.

Hadassah officers state that
they are pleased with the change
in date since it provides addition-
al time for the enrolling of more
Jewish women as supporters of
the movement's cause. Reports
to date indicate that local Ha-
dassah groups have met 'with
success in their Honor Roll cam-
paigns.
