Charlevoix where they spent a few weeks visiting their son-in-law

Byron Ave., returned on Sunday from a month in Charlevoix.
Lt. and Mrs. Morris. Mersky have left. for Fort Worth, Tex.,

Saulson of Broadstreet Blvd. and Mr. and Mrs. Frank -Mersky of
Clairmount Ave. Lt. Mersky recently received his commission at
Ellington Field, Houston, Tex.
Benjamin Krell Jr. of Cortland Ave. accompanied by his father,

they will join Mrs. Krell and their daughter, Elaine, at the Sheridan
Beach Hotel.

has invited Miss Milly Brandt,
national chairman; of legislation,
to address the opening meeting
of the year, at the Jewish Com-
munity Center, on Wednesday,
Sept. 13. A subscription lunch-
eon, at 12:30; will precede the
meeting. Mrs. Max -Dushkin will
preside.

An invitation has been extend-
ed to presidents and legislative
chairmen of Jewish and non-
Jewish organizations to attend
and to hear Miss Brandt's mes-
sage on efforts to combat sub-
versive and discriminatory legis-
lation and to champion laws for
naturalization, lawful immigra-
tion and universal suffrage.
The local legislative commit-
tee of the Congress Women's Di-
vision, headed by Mrs. Phillip
Stellar and under the vice-presi-
dency of Mrs. Irving Dworman
has been functioning in various
matters which concern the vot-

Hadassah Prepares
For Sept. 12 Event

the pitiful condition of refugees
arriving in Palestine, the local
groups affiliated with the Detroit
Chapter of Hadassah are increas-
ing their efforts to secure the
necessary funds to aid the medi-
cal work of the organization. •
Dr. Yassky's cable outlines the
position of expatriates from Hol-
land, Germany, Romania and
Transnistria and points out that
medical aid for countless refu-
gees is no'w more urgently need-
ed because of the new settlers'
run-down condition.
Detroit Hadassah's Honor Roll
project is nearing completion,
and it is aimed to conclude the
drive by Sept. 12. Sustaining
memberships are $25; contribut-
ing memberships, $20, and Honor
Roll memberships, $15.

Late Judge Keidan

late Judge Harry B: Keidan.
