Aaron DeRoy Natatorium
At Center Gains Popularity
In the Aaron DeRoy natator-
ium of the Jewish Community
Center, the community possesses
one of the most handsome swim-
ming pools imaginable.
For more than four and a half
years, this swimming pool has
been a preferred recreation spot
for the discriminating Detroiter.
In hot weather its appeal is so
great, that on certain days traf-
fic had to be staggered to accom-
modate the crowds.
Among those who have had the
wonderful chance to appreciate
the values of Mrs. DeRoy's great
gift are the hundreds of children
enrolled in Camp Habonim and
the Junior Summer Program of
the Jewish Community Center.

Camp Chelsea, operated by the
Jewish Community Center for
mothers and children, enters on
its last period of two weeks
starting Sunday.
For the past six weeks it has
served hundreds of women and
children who have found there
the only opportunity offered un-
der the community auspices for
a fine vacation at moderate costs
for mothers together with chil-
dren. In the last period, 65
campers were served. The capa-
city being 60, this was a record
registration.
The children have been enjoy-
ing their stay at camp with all
supervised activities. For the
women there have been a variety
of interesting programs ranging
from discussions on child care
and pblitics to parties, plays, etc.
The campers publish a news-
paper, conduct their own affairs
through the democratid organiza-
tion of the Camper's Council,
with officers elected by the vari-
ous campers.
The kosher food has been re-
ceiving praise from the campers.
Children and some of the women
whose health and increase in
weight is desirable have also had
success, while others with more
strenuous programs have been
able to achieve the other desir-
able purpose of slenderizing.
It may be possible for camp
to accept registrations for the
last week. Inquiries may be
made by calling Miss Reznick at
the Jewish Center, MAdison
