Jewish. Youth's

LISTENING

By Danny Raskin

SINCE MARCH, the War Serv-
ice Bureau of the Jewish Wel-
fare Board has sent about 10,000
blanks to families with members
in service and only about 3,000
have been filled and returned.
This work by the J.W.B. is of
great importance in that it helps
to maintain at all times a com-
plete record of Jewish men and
women serving our Country.
This is impossible unless 100 per
cent cooperation is received.
Families still in possession of the
blanks must fill them out and
send them immediately to t h e
- War Service Bureau of the
JWB.

FROM ITALY, Sgt. Bill Ko-
fender tells us about one of the
boys in the outfit who, during
their • stay in N. Africa, went
out-of-doors clad only in bath-
ing trunks . . . While he was
standing there, an officer came
by, gazed in awe, and said,
"What's the matter with you?
There isn't any water for miles
around here. Get back into your
clothes!". . . The fellow looked
out over the vast desert land and
exclaimed, "But gosh, sir, did ya'
ever see such a wonderful bath-
ing beach?"
