Third Period On July 24
The third period of Camp
Habonim, the Jewish Community
Center's Day Camp, will . begin
July 24. Children from the ages
of 6 to 14 may be enrolled.
The season opened June 26,
Children are participating in arts
and' crafts, swimming, dramatics
and athletics. •Trips to the Zoo,
public parks, and other places
of interest have been planned for
them.
A capable staff of 14 counsel-
ors directs the activities of the
Camp under - the supervision - of
Mrs. Lillian Genser.

umph in behalf of the war ef-
fort, Knollwdod Country Club
members will meet at a stag
party this Thursday night,
July 6.
Praised by Luckoff
Lou Luckoff, director_ of pub-
lic - relations for - the - Knollwood
bond sales, joined this week in
praising the devoted efforts " of
members of the bond committee.
"Knollwood members practi-
cally gave up their private busi-
ness activities for the duration
of the Fifth .War Loan to help
the club reach the unprecedent-
ed sum of $4,000,000," Mr. Luck-
off stated.
"Mr. Grossman has done . a
grand job as general in t h e
drive. His chief aide in the drive.
Nathan Borin, has sold more than
$1,000,000 worth of bonds, ,
"Max Kogan has done a fine
job. So has the David Stott
Building . team composed of Louis
Berry, George Se3'71ourn, Henry
Alper, Max Handler and Sanford
Adler.
Total Quota 5 Million
"There - were others who helped
in the drive. William' Tann was
one of the great salesmen. We
are grateful to all .of them."
In their commendation to
Knollwood Country Club, Mr.
Blumberg and Mr. Wineman
pointed out that the entire quota
of team 7 was $5,000,000, and
Knollwood alone, with its $4,-
000,000 sale, almost raised it.

of bonds in Detroit include the
$2,000,000. sold by Franklin Hills
Country C 1 u b;• $1,550,000 by
Temple Beth El; $1,000,000 by
Shaarey Zedek; large sums by
either synagogue s, women's
groups, Zionist organizations and
others.

"Our Town" and OWI Film
On Center July .11 Program
"Our Town"; with Frank Cra-
ven, Martha Scott and William
Holden,. will be the feature film
to be presented at the Jewish
Community Center on Tuesday,
at 9:15. p. in. The program will
be sponsored by Junior. Home Re-
lief, with Diana Gordon as chair-
man. "Our Town" is the screen
version of the famous , Pulitzer
Prize Play by Thorton Wilder.
An OWI film, Out for Vic-

tory", will also be shown.
Miss Gordon has announced
the following members of Junior
Home Relief as co--Workers on
the committee: Ethel Marcus,
Gertrude NaftalY, Ann Averbach,
Lucille Hirsh and Jeanette Sil-
verstein.
There will be a small admis-
sion charge for the program.
War Workers' Dances .
War Workers' Dances have
started for the summer, in the
beautifully decorated outdoor
court of the Jewish Center, Sat-
urday evenings, 9 p. m. until 1

A Geneva report to the New York Times this week cor-
roborated reports that 1,715,000 Jews were murdered by the
Germans in Upper Silesian "extermination camps" at Au-
schwitz and Birkenau in two years.

The rounding up of JeWs and other anti-Nazi
continued in Paris this week. The Germans are terrorizing
residents in retaliation for the assassination of Henriot. A
frightful fate awaits those who have been arrested by the
Nazis, according to Frenchmen who . have escaped and are
now in Madrid.
