Her Betrothal Announced

Miss Geraldine Allen of 15926 Normandy Ave., left Saturday
for Atlantic City, N. J., where she will visit her brother and sister-
in-law, Pfc. and Mrs. Jack Allen, who is stationed with the Army
Air Corps in Atlantic City.
Miss Lucille Edelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Edelson
of 3784 Cortland Ave. will be graduated from the University of
Michigan on June 23. Miss Edelson won Phi Beta Kappa honors at
the U. of M. and majored in Government Economics and Political
Science.
Lt. (j.g.) Mandell L. Berman, after spending a short leave with
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Julius Berman of Burlingame Ave., has
reported to the Naval Aviation Ordinance School at Jacksonville,
Fla., for advanced training for his next assignment.
Rabbi Jacob Hurwitz of Temple Beth Israel of Flint will attend
the convention of the Rabbinical. Assembly of America at Camp
Delawaxen, Lackewaxen, Pa., June 26-29.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Schwartz of 3236 Webb Ave. will be at home
this Saturday evening in honor of their daughter, Lillian, who will
leave on Sunday for Washington, D. C., to train as a Red Cross Club
worker for overseas duty.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Jassy of Gloucester Drive entertained at a
reception in their home last Sunday afternoon, in honor of their son
and daughter-in-law, Lt. (j.g.) and Mrs. David Jassy, who were
married on June 6. Mrs. • Jassy is the former Elay -ne May, daughter
of Mrs. Shirley May of Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Disner of W. Buena Vista Ave. announce
the approaching marriage of their granddaughter, Miss Frances
Elaine Harvey, to Pfc. Jack M. Feldman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sol
Feldman of Detroit. Miss Harvey is the daughter of Mrs. Anita
Harvey and the late Samuel H. Harvey. Pfc. Feldman is attending
the School of Dentistry at the University of Michigan. Compliment-
ing the bride-elect, her aunt, Mrs. Morris Iden, and the bridegroom's
sister, Mrs. Frank Meltzer, were hostesses to 100 guests at a dinner
and shower on May 31.
Mrs. Milton Bates (Marion Winkelman) and daughter, Lynda
Sue, have left to join their husband and father, Lt. Bates, who is
now stationed in El Paso, Tex.
