Watson Guest Artist
at Center's 1st Concert
The Center's summer concert
series will be inaugurated on
Monday, June 26. Lawrence Wat-
son, tenor; Dany Majeske, violin-
ist, and Betty Kowalsky, pianist,
will be featured in the opening
program. Mr. Watson has studied
in the Juillard School, as well as
in Paris and Vienna. He will be
accompanied by Hugh RiDoit.
Dany Majeske, 11-year-old vio-
linist, and Betty Kowalsky- will
play the second and third move-
ment from Mendelsohn's Violin
Concert.
Summer concerts at the Jew-
ish Community Center are held
in the outdoor court at 8:45 p. m.
The public is invited.

Plant to Be Center's
Intermediate Director
The Jewish Community Center
announces that Walter Plaut will
be the new intermediate director
for the summer season. Mr. Plaut
is a student at Hebrew Union
College.
He was cultural and religious
director of Price-Hill Jewish
Community Council, and also
head of Price-Hill Jewish Center
in Cincinnati. He will direct the
activities of - the intermediate
group of the Center.

Jewish Center to Show
`Negro Soldier'. Film
"Negro Soldier," an OWI film,
giving the record of Negroes in
the United States Army, will be
shown at the film program of the
Jewish Community Center on
Tuesday, June 27. Film pro-
grams are held on Tuesday eve-
ning in the outdoor court and be-
gin at 9:15 p. m. The public ,is
invited.

A Patriotic Performance, to
which representatives of various
agencies will be guests of honor,
will take place in the auditorium
of the Center on Tuesday, June
27, at 8:30 p. m.
The following agencies will be
represented:- War Chest, Ameri-
can Red Cross, the Women's
Food Committee of the USO, and
a Serve-a-Camp Project at Hono-
lulu. A vaudeville show will be
presented by the Monte Carlo
Studios. The admission is free to
husbands and friends of the
members of Mothers' Clubs.
The Annual Boat Ride to Bob-
Lo will be held Monday, July 10.

Mothers' Clubs Calendar

Center's Mothers
Camp Will Open
Season on July 2

Camp Chelsea, Jewish - Com-
munity Center's Mothers-and
Children's camp at Grass 'Lake,
Mich., will open its season July
2. This camp gives mothers an
opportunity to take their chil-
dren with them to camp.
Camp Chelsea is open to
Mothers' Clubs members of the'
Center, and to the general pub-
lic. Children from 3 to 7 are
eligible to go with mothers. Rates
for Mothers' club members are
$20 per week, and $14 per week'
for each child. For non-members,
the rates are $25 for adults, and
$16 for non-members' children.
Mrs. Clara Avrunim, Camp Di-
rector, announces that an excel-
lent staff has been appointed to
direct camp activities, and many
new improvements have been
made for the camp.
