By oversubscribing its large goal of $2,000,000 in-the Fifth
War Loan, Franklin Hills Country Club on Saturday night
set one of the highest records in War Bond campaigns in the
country.

Of the $2,000,000 of Bonds sold, only $500,000 consisted of

Phi Sigma .Nu Fraternity was
organized June 1 for boys 14 to
18, to promote fraternal rela-
tionships and to help- the war
effort. None of the present mem-
bers, however, is over 16.
The group started its activities
by pledging the $15,000 quota in
the Fifth War Loan to Frank N.
Isbey, Michigan chairman of the
War Bond Lives. In two weeks,
$12,000 was raised, and at this
writing the sum of $15,000 is in
sight and the boys are determin-
ed to exceed -their original quota.

Congregation Beth Tefilo
Emanuel reports that $25,000 in
bonds were sold during Sheveuoth
services and that the campaign

The local Zionists'are conduct-
ing Bond sales. Nationally, the
Zionist Organization of America
reports the sale of more than
$10,000,000 in Bonds during the
`first week of the campaign.
Pinsker Sell $500,000
The Pinsker Society of Detroit
has announced this week that it
has sold $500,000 in bonds and
that a Pursuit Plane now bears
the society's name.

In conjunction with the Fifth
War Loan Drive, the Mizrachi
Organization of America, has un-
dertaken to raise $3,000,000 to-
wards a project designed to honor
the Chief Rabbi of Palestine,
Rabbi Dr. Isaac Halevi Herzog
with the naming of _Naval Hos-
pital Ship—the Herzog Hospital
Ship—it was announced by Mor-
ris Lifschitz, chairman of the
War Bond Committee. Detroit
Mizrachi groups are cooperating
in the drive.
Women's Groups Active
All Jewish women's groups in
the city are active in the Fifth
War Loan drive.
Special committees represent-
ing Women's Division of Ameri-
can Jewish Congress, Sister-
hoods, charitable and social
groups have organized bond
teams to help in the war effort.

Team 7 Near $5,000,000 Bond
Goal; Knollwood Gets $900,000

Irving W. Blumberg and Henry Wineman,.co-chair-
men of Team 7 of the Wayne County Fifth War Loan
organization, this Week reported that the sum of $3,-
500,000 has already been subscribed to the team's quota
of $5,000,000.
All Jewish groups, including the country clubs, the
synagogues and other organizations, are working in
collaboration with this team. -
Mr. Blumberg reported that Knollwood Country
Club members have already subscribed $900,000.
