WASHINGTON (JPS) — The
Hebrew Committee of National
Liberation, headed by Peter H;
Bergson, has registered with the
foreign agents registration sec-
tion of the Justice Department.
It defined the "foreign principal"
which it represented as the He-
brew nation, which "consists of
those Jews in Palestine and oc-

long to it."

that deportation proceedings
have been taken against Peter H.
Bergson, chairman of the com-

registration gave its assets as
$10,000 received from the Free
Palestine Committee and $15,000
borrowed from the Palestine De-

to the Securities and -Exchange

float a loan.
Seek Funds to Spread
Book on Polish Jewry
For the past few months, all
branches of the. American Fed-
eration of Polsh. Jews have been
actively engaged in distributing
the Black Book of Polish Jewry.
The Detroit branch, with the
help of many donors, has mailed
hundreds of books to libraries,
universities, churches, clergy-
men and civic' leaders, as .well
as Jewish organizations and in-.
dividuals.
Many encouraging replies have
been sent to the local - office by
recipients of the book. In one
instance, a non-Jew, touched by
the tragedy- of Jewish suffering,
unsolocited, sent a contribution
to the Federation.
The local branch, in an effort
to send out more copies of the
book, will solicit organizations
and individuals for the necessary
funds. The offices at 9124 Lin-
wood Ave. are open Monday
through Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.,
to give information and accept
contributions.
