Lt. Hyman Cohen, Liberator
navigator, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Jacob Cohen of 3236 Tuxedo, is
reported missing in action, hav-
ing been shot down - over Yugo-
slavia on his first mission.
Lt. Cohen, 25, has not been
heard from since April 13, when
47 American planes failed to re-
turn to their Italian bases. He
has a brother in service and his
sister, Pfc. Rose, is in ,the
Women's Marine Corps at San
Diego, Calif. A graduate of Cen-
tral High School and Wayne Uni-
versity, he entered active serv-
ice 16 months ago. He was com-
missioned last September and ar-
rived overseas in April.

Cadet Finkelstein
Training at Yale

NEW HAVEN, Conn.—Albert
Finkelstein, son of Mr. and Mrs.
M. L. Finkelstein, 2243 Glad-
stone, has begun training as an
aviation cadet in the Army Air
Forces Training Command School
at Yale University-. His training
will prepare him for duties of a
technical officer in communica-
tions, and upon completion of
the course he will be commis-
sioned a second lieutenant.
After being commissioned he
will be placed in charge of a
crew of enlisted men specialists
at flying fields where he will
maintain the plane - to - ground
and plane-to-plane communica-
tions so essential in the aerial
campaign over battlefronts.
