G. L, K. Smith Won't
Take Dewey's "No"
CLEVELAND (JPS)—Despite
an unqualified repudiation by
Gov. Thomas E. Dewey of New
York, leading contender for the
GOP Presidential nomination;
Gerald L, K. Smith was em-
powered by the native fascist
America First Party, of which
he is founder and executive di-
rector, to give the governor one
more chance to toe the line of
Smith's "nationalist" program.
Stating that Dewey "slopped
over too much into thg- inter-
national side," he expressed the
hope that the governor will "go
back to the faith of his dear
Christian mother who attends
my meetings at Owosso."

Mrs. MOSES . P. EPSTEIN, national president of Hadassah,
congratulates Mrs. HERMAN SHULMAN, a vice president and the

rollment of the 100,000th and 100,0001st members, thus ending the
first lap of a campaign which has brought Hadassah to the highest
membership peak in its history. Mrs. Shulman announced the
launching of the 1944-1945 drive for 200,000 members.

The charge that the Ku Klux
Klan in Detroit is operating un-
der the guise of an organization
called the United Sons of Amer-
ica, and that the whole Detroit
area is flooded by native fascist
l iterature issued by an organiza-
tion known as The Christocrats,
operating from a home for the
aged, are made by an "under-
cover reporter" - of the New York
Post who claims to have pene-
trated into these . organizations.
A Claude Smith is the leader
of the Christocrats which are
described as "a front for the
most vicious and sinister source
of anonymous hate literature in
Detroit." Harvey H a n s o n, a
