150 Refugees in Turkey
En Route to Palestine

LONDON, (Palcor)—A third
boat, Bella Citta, carrying 150
Jewish refugees from the Bal-
kans, including 130 chidren, ar-
rived in Turkey, April 27, the
pasengers left by train for Pal-
estine.

Hold 17th Annual
Dinner on May 21

Mrs. Pearl Rottenberg, presi-
dent of the Ladies of Yeshivath
Beth Yehudah, announces that
the 17th annual dinner of the or-
ganization will be held Sunday,
May 21, 6:30 p. m., in the Yeshi-
vah Building, Dexter and Cort-
land.
Guest speaker will be Rabbi
Samson R. Weiss, who will be
honored on the occasion of his
leaving as dean of the institu-
tion. Cantor David Katzman will
render vocal selections. David J.
Cohen will be toastmaster. After
the banquet, a reception will be
held in Dr. Weiss' honor.
The Ladies of Yeshivath Beth
Yehudah raised approximately
one-fourth of the budget which
amounts this year to close to
$48,000 for. Yeshivath Beth Ye-
hudah and Beth Jacob Religious
School for Girls.
Last year the Beth Jacob Kin-
dergarten and Religious School.
were founded by the Ladies of
the Yeshivah with initial contri-
butions from the Holtzman, fam-
ily in honor of their late mother,
Mrs. Lena Holtzman; -Mrs. David
W. Simons; and Samuel W. Platt.

Carmel Young Judaea
Honors Ghetto Heroes

A memorial in tribute to the
martyrs in the battle of the
Warsaw ghetto was conducted
by the Carmel Young Judaea
group and Carmel Hebrew
School students. Addresses were
delivered by I. A. Lawton and
J. Levitts and selections were
read from the Psalms.
