Bar Mitzvahs

Lt. and Mrs. Allan Tohnich have returned to Portland; Ore.,
after visiting with their mother, Mrs. Peter Vass, at the Wilshire
Hotel. Lt. Tolmich is stationed at the Portland Army Air Base.
Cpl. William Sampson is spending his furlough with his parents.
Mr. and Mrs. Max Sampson of 11818 Fourteenth St. He is a radio
gunner and veceived his wings at Fort Myers, Fla. He is now
stationed at Barksdale Field, La.•

Cpl. Ben Kramer, who was home on ftirlough to spend the Pass-
over with his sisters, has returned to Fort Ord, California.
Miss Shirley May Schwartz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Schwartz of 2471 Pingree Ave., received scholastic honors at the
21st annual honors convocation of the University of Michigan, held
at Hill Auditorium, April 21. She is now a member of Alpha
Lamda Delta Society. •

Mrs. Norman Noble and Mrs. Max Lebow will be co-hostesses
to the executive board of Neugarten Medical Aid at the home of
Mrs. Noble, 16922 Lawton. At the last meeting, the Sisterhood of
Temple Israel presented its Spring Fashion Review.

Madeleine Palmer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Palmer of
14604 Monica, entertained a group of friends at luncheon last Sun-
day, on her 11th birthday.

New York City where she was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert
