Templeton Composed
First Music at Age of

4

The Welsh pianist-composer,
Alec Templeton, who will play
at the Masonic Auditorium on
Saturday, April 15, was born
July 4, 1909, in Cardiff, South
Wales.
He composed his first piece
at the age of 4. He called it
"Slow Movement," because he
had heard someone refer to the
"slow movement" of a sym-
phony. A year later, he made
his debut as an amateur musi-
cian at a Children's Concert in
Cardiff. "The Lord Mayor was
there," he says. Alec was the
solo pianist and conductor of the
Children's Choir.
Tickets for the concert are on
sale at Grinnell's.

Service, Ford Republic and
others.
The Bureau participates in the
work of the Mo'os Chitim Com-
mittee and provides clearance,
clerical and bookkeeping service
for the Committee. It also fur-
nishes guidance and leadership
in promoting cooperation and
eliminating duplication to the
Cooperative Council which con-.
sists of about a dozen women's
relief societies.
"It is our hope," stated Harold
Silver, director the Bureau,
"that the Board Manual will
make for a more effective par-
ticipation of the board members
in the agency's program and
thus render it more useful to
the Jewish community?",
