In a letter to members of his
Congregation, Rabbi Leon Fram
has urged every family of Tem-
ple Israel to prepare for the
home observance of the Seder.
"Children," he writes, "love
the Seder. The custom, in fact,
originated for the children's sake.
In the Religious School of Tem-
ple Israel your children have
been taught the principal feat-
ures of the Seder and their part
in it. They know the Four Ques-
tions, the songs, and the games.
"The Passover Seder," he con-
cludes, "is especially meaningful
to us and to our children in this
world crisis. We, who are today
thwarting the Fascist plot to en-
slave mankind, are carrying on
the struggle for liberty begun by
the Hebrew slaves on the four-
teenth day of Nisan 3,500 years
ago."
The Passover services of Tem-
ple Israel will be held Saturday
morning, April 8, at 10:30, in the
Lecture Hall of the Detroit Insti-
tute of Arts. Rabbi Fram's sub-
ject will be "The Exodus and the
Resurrection." There will be no
service at Temple Israel on Fri-
day night, April 7.
This Friday night, March. 31,
Rabbi Fram delivers the opening,
address in the Community Coun-
cilEducation Month program, on
the subject "How We Defend the
Jewish Community:"
