The guest artists were Zvee • Scooler and Saul Meisels, accompanied by Mrs. Meisels. The highlight of the concert was the performance of a dra- matic sketch by the American Hebrew poet Abraham Regelson, entitled "Proclaim Liberty" and done in English narrative, with Page Th irteen songs in Yiddish and Hebrew. In addition Mr. Scooler present- ed a group of original comedy monologues, while Mr. Meisels offered a program of Yiddish and Hebrew folk songs, several of ..them of recent composition. This was the sixth in the se- ries of programs presented by the committee this year. • The final program will be given dur- ing Passover as a festival cele- bration. During the intermission on Sunday, Louis Levine, who in- troduced the program of the eve- ning, presented a speaker from the local chapter of the Amer- ican Red Cross who made a plea for blood donors. This had been arranged by the war efforts com- mittee of the Community Coun- cil, and a considerable. number of persons registered to donate blood this month. Refugee Congregation Affiliates With UAHC CINCINNATI—The Union of American Hebrew Congregations has just welcomed into, mem- bership its three hundred and thirteenth affiliate congregation. The new affiliate is a refugee group of worshippers, the first refugee congregation to join .the UAHC circle. The affiliate, Con- gregation Habonim, is the largest of some 15 New York congrega- tions made up wholly or in part of refugees. The spiritual leader of Hab- onim is Dr. Hugo Hahn, former- ly Rabbi of Essen, hub city of the Ruhr. The synagogue in Essen was famous as one of the most beautiful European houses of Europe.
