.Dr. B. Benedict Glazer will
speak on "What to Do With Ger-
many—An Analysis of Suggested
Solutions as Revealed in Recent
Books" at the Sabbath eve serv-
ices of Temple Beth El this Fri-
day, March 10 at 8:15.
Jason Tickton, organist of the
Temple, will render an organ
prelude from 8 to 8:15 and will
play, for the first time in Detroit,
Arthur Einstein's "And the Heav-
ens Were Created," Mr. Einstein
is the organist of Temple Emanu-
El in Providence, R. I., and his
composition is based on the
theme of the well-known Jewish
Composer, Israel Goldfarb.
The musical program of the
services will be rendered by the
Temple quartet under the direc-
tion of Julius Chajes with Jason
Tickton at the organ. A social
hour under the auspices of the
Sisterhood will follow the serv 7
ice.
The annual Men's Club laymen
service will be observed on Fri-
day evening, March 17. The guest
speaker on that occasion will be
Milton Schwartz, president of the
Men's Club of North Shore Con-
gregation Israel in Glencoe, Ill.,
outstanding Jewish leader and
speaker. Mr. Schwartz's subject
will be "Participation; If Not
Now—When?"' Dr. Glazer will
officiate and introduce the speak-
er. Theodore D. Birnkrant, Ar-
thur L. Goulson and Benjamin
Wilk will participate in the serv-
ice.
Bnai Moshe Purim
Pageant on Sunday
On Sunday at 2:30 p. m. the
students of the Religious School
of Congregation Bnai Moshe will
present their annual Purim pa-
geant.
An original play depicting the
story of Purim will be presented
under the direction of Miss Al-
ice Mandell. Miss Cyril Aronson
is directing music and dancing.
Scenery and costumes were pre-
pared by students of the Arts and
Crafts classes under the super-
vision of • Miss Aronson, Miss
Shirley Hersch and Miss Ruth
Sobel. The presentation of the
play will be followed by a cos-
tume parade. Prizes will be
awarded.
The public is invited. Tickets
are available from pupils of the
school.
Beth El Religious School Celebrates Purim
The annual intercongregation-
al dinner sponsored by Men's
Clubs of Shaarey Zedek, Temple
Beth El, Bnai David, Temple
Israel, Downtown Synagogue,
Shaar Hashomayim of Windsor
and Bnai Moshe will take place
Wednesday, March 22, at the
Bnai Moshe, with Father E. J.
Flanagan, of Boys Town, as the
guest speaker.
Those wishing to attend are
urged to make reservations from
their respective congregations
not later than March 17.
