Ensemble to Detroit on March 9

Gehrmans' Success Play to
Be Presented Here on
Sunday and Tuesday

Abraham Littman, manager of
Littman's Yiddish People's
Theater, announces that Mischa
and Lucy Gehrman are being
retained here for another week
and will be featured in Meyer
Schwartz's play, "The Jolly
Family." Music is by S. Secunda.
This play, one of the Gehr-
mans' outstanding successes, will
be staged Sunday matinee and
evening and Tuesday evening.
Well received in New York
and other American communi-
ties, as well as abroad, where
the Gehrmans presented it, "The
Jolly Family" is certain of a
triumph in Detroit.

Hoffmann in Concert
Here on March 8

As its final attraction of the
current season, Masonic Audi-
torium concerts bring the world-
famed pianist, Josef Hoffmann, to
Masonic Auditorium on Wednes-
day evening, March 8.
Hofmann, a favorite with
American audiences since his
debut here at the age of 10, has
appeared in practically every
American city, and played with
the country's geratest symphony
orchestras under the country's
greatest conductors, all of whom
have acclaimed his genius.

ny of New York City announces
the publication of Julius Chajes'
new anthem, "Harken to My
Prayer", for mixed chorus and
organ.
The first performance of this
composition was given by the
First Baptist Church choir, under
the direction of Dr. Cyril E. Bar-
ker, in the Brotherhood Concert,
on Feb. 8, 1944, at the Jewish
Community Center.

WORKS OF BACH, BRAHMS
ON GM SYMPHONY PROGRAM
In a program devoted entirely
to Bach and Brahms, Leopold
Stokowski, on Sunday, Feb. 27,
will conclude h i s series of 12
concerts on the General Motors
Symphony of the Air program
(NBC, 5 to 6 p.m., EWT). On
the following Sunday, the cele-
brated maestro, Arturo Tosca-
nini, will conduct the first of six
programs, scheduled for succes-
sive Sundays under his direction.

SPALDING ON RADIO
PROGRAM THIS SUNDAY
Bon voyage to one of the great-
est figures in American music
will be sounded on "The Pause
that Refreshes on the Air" (CBS,
4:30 p.m., EWT) Sunday, when
Albert Spalding makes his final
radio appearance before going
abroad on a misison for the Of-
fice of War Information.

Hon. Camille Kelley, world-
famous juvenile court judge of
Memphis, will speak exclusively
before the Detroit Town Hall in
the Fisher Theater Wednesday,
; March 1, at 11 a. m. Her sub-
ijest will be "Your children in an
