ACTIVITIES IN SOCIETY

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Farbsten of Burlington Road have left
for Palm Beach, Fla., for a few months' stay.
Mrs. I. L. Polozker and Mrs. Eugene Sloman of the Belcrest
Hotel are planning to leave on Sunday for Palin Beach, Fla.
Mrs. Mayer Sulzberger of Puritan Ave. has returned from
Beverly Hills, Calif., where she spent the last month.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis Rosenthal of the Belcrest Hotel left on
Thursday for Alexandria, La., where they will visit their son,
Staff- Sgt. Bernard Rosenthal, who is stationed there. They will
proceed from there to Hot Springs, Ark., for a short stay.
Mr. and Mrs. Felix Mahler of Whitmore Rd. have returned
from a month's stay in Albany, N. Y. - - -
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Phillips of W. Seven Mile Road and Mr.
and Mrs. Jaines L. Stein of Northlawn • Ave. -left last Sunday to
spend a week in New 'York City. .
Mrs. Myer Friedman of Cincinnati is the guest of her :brother-
in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald May, of Wildemere Ave. •
Mr. and Mrs. Louis K. Lambert of Whittier Dr. returned
Sunday from a week's stay in New York City. -
Mrs, David J. Epston
Longwood Ave. has as her guest her
daughter, Mrs. Walter Faught of Traverse City, and her daughter,
Barbara,. who has just completed her training with the WAC at
Fort Oglethorpe, Ga., and has been commissioned . a second lieu-
tenant. At the expiration of her leave Lt. Epston will report in
Washington, D. C.
Mr. and Mrs. Julian • Caplan have returned to their- home in
Kew Gardens, L. I., after a month's visit with Mr. Caplan's sisters,
the Misses Jeannette and Ruth Caplan of Whitmore 'Rd.
Mrs. Irving Goldman of Muirland Ave. returned on Thursday
from Tucson, Ariz., where she spent the last few weeks visiting
with Mrs. Max Fisher..
Mrs. Leonard Kramer (Julia Ruth Brown) of New York City
is the guest of Miss Juliette Goldberg of the Wilshire Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim L. Lieberman and their son, Harry, of
Santa Barbara Dr. left on Sunday for Miami Beach. En route they
will visit with friends in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Mrs. Saul M. Lewis of Ferndale will leave this Friday for
Los Angeles, Calif., where she will visit her brother-in-law and
sister, Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Levinson.
e Mr. and Mrs. Charles Slatkin of Wildemere Ave. have re-
turned from Miami Beach, Fla., where they spent the last month
as the guests of Mrs. Emil Rose.
Mrs. Spencer Finney returned last Saturday to • Columbus,
Miss., where Capt. Finney is stationed, after a month's visit with
her mother, Mrs. D. W. Davis, of the Statler Hotel.
Mr. and Mrs. David Hubar of Huntington Woods left on Mon-
day for a stay in Palm Springs, Calif.
Complimenting Miss Juliette Goldberg, whose marriage to Dr.
Jacob J. Wechsler will take place on Feb. 20, Mrs. Casper C. Cutler
of Collingwood Ave. gave a lunchebn at the Statler Hotel last
Friday, and Mrs. Barney Fernian of the Wilshire Hotel was hostess
on Saturday at a luncheon also at the Statler Hotel. On Monday
evening, Mrs. Max Frank of Calvert Ave. honored Miss Goldberg
. with a party in her home; Tuesday, Mrs. C. Robert Smith gave a
luncheon in her hothe on Birwood Ave., and on Wednesday, Mrs.
Harry Glick vas hostess at a bridge-luncheon at the Lee Plaza.
This Saturday, Mrs. Norman Germari will have a party in her
home on Washburn Ave.; on Tuesday evening, Mrs. Sidney H.
Marwil of Pennington Dr. will be the hostess with a party in her
home, and on Thursday, Mrs. Lawrence. Blau and Mrs. Fred Brad-
field of Pennington Dr. will give a luncheon at the Women's
City Club.
Mrs. Morris Mersky (Shirley Saulson) left last week for
Corsicana, Tex., where she will join

who is stationed there.
A. L. Felstein has returned to his home in Birmingham,- Ala.,
after a visit with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Morris
Jacobs, of Glynn Ct.
Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Hibbler of Buena Vista Ave. have returned
from a month's stay in Miami Beach, Fla.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zierer of New York City are visiting Mrs.
Zierer's mother, Mrs. Fanny Rodin, of Sturtevant Ave and Mr.
Zierer's mother, Mrs. A. M. Zierer, of Tuxedo Ave.
Mrs. Harry Lewis of Sturtevant Ave. left to spend the re-
mainder of the winter in Miami Beach, Fla.
Henry Solomon of Fairview, Mich., spent a few days visiting
with his sisters, the Misses Solomon of Atkinson Ave., en route to
Washington, D. C., where he will visit with his son, Pfc. Merril
Solomon, who - is stationed at Quanset Point, D. C.
Mr. and Mrs - . Carl Myers of Sturtevant Ave. left on Thursday
to spend a few weeks in Hot Springs, Ark.
Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Glassman of Chicago Blvd. returned on
Tuesday from Miami Beach where they spent the last few weeks.
Mrs. A. J. Vizvary has returned to her home .in Hollywood,
Cailf., after an extended visit with relatives and friends.
David Erman of Prairie Ave. left last week for Miami Beach,
Fla., where he joined Mrs. Erman who has been there for the last
month.
Mrs. A. M. Bookstein has returned to Clarksburg, Va„ where
Capt. Bookstein is stationed, after a visit with her brother-in-law
and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Hoffman of Stu -rtevant Ave.
Mrs. Leo Schinagel has returned to her home in Los Angeles
after an extended visit with her brother-in-law and sister-in-law,
Dr. and Mrs. Geza Schinagel.
Mrs. Aaron Kurland of Calvert Ave. and Mrs. C. J. Parducci
have returned from a short stay in Miami0Beach.
Mrs. Louis Fields and her twin infant daughters, Ardith Sue
and Sheila Ann, left by plane for Martinsburg, W. Va., to rejoin
Sgt. Fields. They were accompanied by Mrs. Field's mother, Mrs.
Leslie Mitchell, who remained there for 10 days.
Mrs. Pearl Stulberg of Rochester Ave. is visiting Lt. and Mrs.
Sam Stulberg of Finney General Hospital, Thomasville, Ga., where
Lt. Stulberg is stationed in the Dental Clinic. She visited in Cincin-
nati. on the trip south, and. is planning to visit Fort Lauderdale.
Fla., and Atlanta, Ga., where she will visit friends. Her entire stay
will take about a month.
Mrs. Milton Marwil of Philadelphia, Pa. accompanied. by her
small daughter, Sarah, is visiting her husband's parents and brother
and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Marwil of LaSalle Blvd.
and Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Marwil of Pennington Drive. Lt. Milton
Marwil is stationed somewhere in England.
