WASHINGTON — Setting the
tone of the 1944 Red

Cross War Fund campaign
which opens March 1, synagog-

Refining Co., has accepted the Sabbath on Feb. 25-26. The fund-
chairmanship of the $550,000 raising campaign, of which the
goal is $200,000,000, will con-
tinue throughout March.

from Dr. Israel Goldstein, presi-
dent of the Synagogue Council
of America, and Red Cross
Chairmen Norman H. Davis, ad-
dressed to Jewish religious lead-
ers from coast to coast. This - is
the second successive year of its
observance.

Dr. B. Benedict Glazer will
preach at the services on "Lin-
coln's Challenge to Contempo-
rary America." A special pro-
gram of music in honor of Na-
tional Scout Sabbath and Lin-
coln's Birthday will be rendered
by the Temple Quartet under
the direction of Julius Chajes,
with Jason Tickton at the organ.
Following the services a social
hour will be held in the Social
Hall under the auspices of the
Sisterhood.

Rabbi Fram to Discuss
Houston Affair Feb. 18

"A Psychoanalysis of the Re-
form Jewish Congregation of
Houston" will be the subject of
Rabbi Leon Fram's sermon at
the Sabbath Eve services of
Temple Israel on Feb. 18 at 8:30
in the Lecture Hall of the De-
troit Institute of Arts.
The service will be followed by
a social hour, under the auspices
of Temple Israel Sisterhood.

The Men's Club of Temple
Beth El is planning a father-son.

Chairman Gus Braff has ar-
ranged a program which will in-
clude the taking of free pictures
of every father and his children,
an animal show by the famous

movies, a talk by a war hero,
salute to the flag and Pledge of
Allegiance led by the Scout
troops of Temple Beth El, com-
munity singing and prizes.
Reservations, $1.65 for fathers
and $1 for children, are being ac-
cepted at the Temple office.
