War Bond Campaign
To Honor Dr. Wise

On 70th 'Birthday

Seventy mercy units bought
by war bonds purchased through
the Women's Division of the
American Jewish Congress will
be presented to Dr. Stephen S.
Wise in honor of his 70th birth-
day on March 17.
These units range from planes
to trains—all fully equipped.
Under the leadership of Mrs.
Ira Frank, National Chairman of
War Activities Committee of the
Women's • Division, a goal of
$3,000,000 by Feb. 15 has been
set.
This plan to pay tribute to
Dr. Wise, as well as to speed
the war effort, is siArt of the
war activities program of the
Congress women.
A special tribute issue in honor
of Rabbi Wise's 70th birthday
will be published by Opinion—A
Journal of Jewish Life and Let-
ters. A special editorial commit-
tee, of which Dr. John Haynes
Holmes is chairman, has invited
leading Americans to contribute
to this tribute edition.
